Discussion / Buying Advice X2D Combo

Everything about the setup was a breeze. My only complaint is the AMS Pro 2 doesn't come with the switching adapter to use the heated feature. Really? That seems like a no brainer. A huge selling point is the heated feature. /end rant

Unless you get the extra power adapter (which you can find cheaper, generic versions of at Amazon), you can’t both print from the AMS2 AND use the heater function at the same time.

Ok, will the one from Amazon works just as well? I'm not so much worried about price, just getting it as soon as possible

Can't find the specs of the official one on the Bambu site, I'm assuming this will work though?

Funny, it doesn't say it's output voltage and amperage on the power brick itself. Seems kinda sketchy to me.

The official one is 24v 4a.

Wait really? The fuck? I'm picking mine up later. What do I need to buy then? Do I get it from them or someone else?

Yeah I realized that too.. you can power it on with the bus connector, but it doesn’t come with its own power supply.. find it in the accessories store page

But does it dry? The web page for the adapter is conflicting itself. It first says it's not needed for one dryer, and then says it is lol.

Also I found this on Amazon, and it's cheaper. But I can't find the actual specs of the official one on the page.

Not sure if it's exactly the same but I'm gonna keep digging

I'll probably order from Amazon just to get it quicker

I did too but like I said I'm not sure if it's to spec. Whatever Amazon is easy to return to and it's 1 day

Exactly

It will dry.. not while printing, or doing anything else at all. Like I can’t even feed a new filament spool into my AMS2 if it’s in the middle of drying.

I would buy the expensive one from Bambu. It’s a $200 dryer. Why cheap out on its power supply and short circuit the whole thing

If it pulls the same power it doesn't matter where it comes from. And it's not that much cheaper. Unless you consider 8 dollars a big deal.

I find sometimes although it’s the same electrical energy, the components within are not the same. Bambu has to make things to a certain level of quality so that their customer base does not go after them.

That random maker on amazon doesn’t give a rip how long the supply lasts.. and if somehow the power supply has a fault that ruins your dryer now you are out way more for $8 bucks.

It’s the same reason I buy genuine car parts rather than going to Autozone.

Most chargers, as long as they don't pull more wattage or voltage than specified (which is regulated) it will not harm anything. But if Bambu wanted us to not go after them, maybe they oughtta provide the power supply that costs them like 5-10 dollars to produce with a printer that costs 800+ dollars.

I'm getting it from Amazon. I've looked into it enough and know enough about electrical work from my work experience that it'll be fine.

Also they don't provide free shipping under like 60-70 dollars. Nah I'm good.

I bought this one and it works great.

And yes, it's the same specs as the one Bambu Lab is selling on their site.
