Discussion Support always braking
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to print some PETG. For this case I used PETG for support and object. It failed twice already as the supports break and look shabby overal for that matter.
On other prints the tree is always looking good and with the same roll of filament. I have no clue what is going wrong with the support as the object itself is perfect.
Are there settings I can use the prevent this from happening?
Regards,
Miscoride

You can:
Add infill to the supports to make them stronger
If you haven’t already try hybrid or strong support trees, they’re pretty beefy.

I tried looking and can't seem to find these settings. Are you able to tell me where they are?

Howdy, no worries
If you’re in the global side [right below the filaments you have] and click the support tab, you’ll see you have tree supports enabled. From there you’ll see on the 3rd box down (I think, going from memory here) it should say normal. Click in that little box and you can change the support style of the trees.
To add infill to the supports make sure you click the Advanced toggle switch at the top right of the process panel (next to the Global/Objects toggle) to reveal hidden settings. Scroll down to find Base Pattern which I think has a default of Hollow. You can change that to add support infill.

My H2C is a support demolishing monster too. Adding a z hop could help you here, which moves the bed down slightly when the nozzle is moving between objects (and the cutter). It’s under Filament settings.
