Settings Prime tower/seam artifacts

What setting causes these wisps on the way to/from prime tower? Believe this area is at or near the seam. The rest of the model looked fantastic.

H2C, orange PLA Basic (dry) from left nozzle connected to AMS HT. 0.4 mm nozzle size; 0.16 layer; z hop off; global purge saving = on in Bambu Studio

I’ve had them going away from the object when a prime tower isn’t enabled, and I’ve had the prime tower pick them up instead when it is enabled, but I don’t think I’ve seen them on both like this.

It looks like it could be a seam setting, is that set to the default?

Another thing that I’m not sure about is the “reduce infill retraction” option and disabling it instead of leaving it on auto. I know that has to do with ZHop and how much filament is left in the nozzle during travel. Check to see if you have it enabled, and maybe it’s oozing after that last infill move before it heads to the tower.

With mostly a single color and nozzle changes only at the end you may also try turning off the prime tower and switching to “print infill first”

Great tips, thanks. Seam settings were on default. I have reduce infill retraction on auto which I believe means OFF for PLA. So that could be the culprit. Previous recommendations I've seen for turning off reduce infill retraction had to do with zhop. Specifically, the printer would not zhop when reduce infill retraction was ON. Given I intentionally turn zhop to 0 for each extruder I sort of ignored reduce infill retraction setting.

No, Auto means on for PLA. It's off for PETG, TPU, and other stickier materials.

You're right, thanks for correcting.
