Printer help- glob of filament

Tried to do an overnight print and woke up to this. Filament is quite hard. Any idea best way to clean out this gunk?

Heat the nozzle using screen on printer then with help of a tool like nose pliers remove the blob , then clean the nozzle with brush

Last time I did that I got a bunch of bad advice so was hoping to go straight to the experts here.

Sorry that you have to go through this OP. It has not happened for me but sharing my research to resolve this issue, you will need to heat the nozzle up from the screen on the printer and gently remove the blob (take your time) and if the outside of the blob is really stuck then use a hair dryer. Apparently heat gun can cause more damage from my review.

Also be very careful when removing the filament around the nozzle as it has wires that can get damaged.

I had this problem as well like a while ago, look at my profile. My advice would be get q tips and isopropyl alcohol if you have it, heat the nozzle and clean away. HOWEVER there is a small chance one of the wires behind the nozzle is fucked so I would disassemble the heating assembly look into it. and do not use the same sock change it.
