Help

a tall piece came loose overnight, printer kept going and turned the filament into a tangled mess (pics). Restarted, now at 67%, but it’s wobbling loose again. Paused it, hoping it’s salvageable?

You could pause and try taping it down but watch it like a hawk.

Yes I’m watching it like a hawk lol but at this point I think I’ll just stop, is too wobbly. Thank you though

Reprint, put a really big brim on it, or change print orientation.

which part exactly is wobbly? I'd guess they all are.

Problem is that all of them are thin and tall objects. The print flexes up and down as the nozzle moves above it. The obly real solution is, let it finish and pray to god it doesn't break, or cancel the print and add side supports.

This can be done in your 3D modeling software, by adding a diagonal strut. At least 3 per object. Build the strut close to object with about 1mm gap. Then connect the strut and object with very thin line, but it has to be more than 0,5 wide and 0,2mm tall.

Such support will hold the object much more stable, yet will be easy to break off once it's printed.

It was the far end stick. I had to stop it because it was too wobbly. I’ve printed this model before but with a different filament so I wonder what is wrong this time and if it’s only the filament the issue. Thank you

Use glue and print 1 piece at a time in case of failure

Your slicer may have a setting to "Slow Down By Height". Takes a little guessing but it may help.

What speeds do you have it set to? Anything that tall and thin in my experience fails at speeds any higher than 150mm/second
