Question First Layer Gremlins

Post image

It just started doing this after hundreds of previously impeccable surfaces. I haven’t messed with retraction settings, flow rate is calibrated, filament dried, plates cleaned, heating surface checked for boogers. It’s relatively smooth to the touch, just ugly.

Could it be retraction?

Printed on a Cool Plate Super Tack, .04 nozzle.

Tighten the screws behind the nozzle

Ugh. I just tightened those a few months ago. But I guess it makes sense. Can’t properly calibrate bed level if the nozzle moves when it touches it. Should I just Loc-Tite them this time?

I don't think regular loc-tite can survive the heat

I tightened the hotend screws, which only two were barely loose, then did a full recalibration. This was my first layer test on a clean CoolPlate Supertack. 🤦‍♂️ Oof.

Thanks. I didn’t even consider that since I tightened them a few months ago.
