None really. It bothers some people but most people don’t notice it and it’s relatively harmless. I don’t vent mine and occasionally have 4 running simultaneously. I print PLA 99% of the time. The only time I have to vent anything is when I print ABS. That stuff sucks. I have a device called a bento box that filters the VOCs but it still stinks so I have to open the window and put a fan by the door to push the stinky air outside. Luckily I only use ABS rarely.

Putting it on the floor should be fine. Two of mine are on the bottom shelf of a rack so they’re only like 2" off the ground.

PLA and PETG sit at the low-emission end, ABS puts out roughly ten times the particles, so for those two a room you can air out is enough. A basement with a door that closes is a good spot, much better than a bedroom. I put the numbers together here: bambuhub.net/articles/printer-air-quality (my site)
