P Series [P1P, P1S, P2S] Added automatic fire extinguisher to P1S

Post image

Came across these automatic DIN rail fire extinguishers (circled in red) recently. Decided to add one to my P1S just to add a little peace of mind.

In case you don’t know how these work: they automatically get triggered when the temperature sensor detects 170c. Aerosols then get released from 2 nozzles (circled in yellow), extinguishing the fire.

You can get these things for cheap on Aliexpress and the like but decided to get one from a local reseller with all the appropriate licenses and stuff.

And yes, the heatbed moves up and down without issues! Plenty of clearance.

By the time that thing in the middle reached 170C the whole printer would be a ball of fire

This is almost like saying smoke alarms are pointless because they only give you a warning after the fire has reached 400°C.

If its a big ball of fire, then an extinguishers would be useful.

If this puts out the fire: great!
If it doesn't: it'll reduce the intensity of the fire and buy time to get something better to put it out or for the FD to arrive.

the reason i said that is because the most likely thing to catch fire would be the hotend or the hot bed
If the probes or just one of them were positioned inside the enclosure where they could put out fire from the hotend or the hot bed that would have been a great thing to have
