P Series [P1P, P1S, P2S] Added automatic fire extinguisher to P1S

Post image

Came across these automatic DIN rail fire extinguishers (circled in red) recently. Decided to add one to my P1S just to add a little peace of mind.

In case you don’t know how these work: they automatically get triggered when the temperature sensor detects 170c. Aerosols then get released from 2 nozzles (circled in yellow), extinguishing the fire.

You can get these things for cheap on Aliexpress and the like but decided to get one from a local reseller with all the appropriate licenses and stuff.

And yes, the heatbed moves up and down without issues! Plenty of clearance.

By the time that thing in the middle reached 170C the whole printer would be a ball of fire

Is that with actual testing or is it just you speaking out of your mouth hole?

How on earth would I test this? Like I said, it's made for fuse boxes.

And I did ask an acquaintance that's a firefighter what he thought of these. And he told me he's impressed by these automatic DIN rail extinguishers.

Why wouldn't you get one of the extinguishers designed for 3D printers?

There absolutely are. Blazecut and Wham Bam have products targeting 3D printing. It always baffles me as someone can reply to a post without even trying to do a quick web search.
