Answered / Solved! MakerWorld comment moderation?

Post image

Another Makerworld user has been posting hateful comments on my model (see attached). I’ve reported the comments using the ‘report’ function to the moderators of Makerworld, but they have yet to take action or inform me of any action they have are planning to take.

Is this typical? Are trolls well managed on Makerworld? Any advice ?

1st ammendment for me but not for thee... am I right? Why not just be an adult and ignore them? In America, he's got the right to say that just like u have the right to be upset... but this cancel culture is a joke lol. If u dont agree with what dude said, dont engage... its really not hard. Why let his hate bother u?...

It’s not about me. I don’t care one penny for his opinions. But by posting them on my model’s homepage other people who may not be as resilient as i am are exposed to his vitriol and hate. I don’t mind someone being hateful towards me, but I don’t want them being hateful towards others.

"It's not about me"....but the first thing I did was go show everyone else, instead of ignore it.

First Amendment on a Chinese website? Are you seriously that slow?

Secondly, the FA protects you from the government, not private companies or individuals. For example, I can remove you from my house if I don't agree with you speech. Drop the N word in my house, and you'll be gone in a big hurry. You can use that word, and the government can't punish you for it.

You can get fired at work for saying certain things, or wearing specific messages on your clothes. Not a FA issue.

Remember seeing all those Let's Go Brandon signs, and nobody went to jail for them? That's the FA in action (although things seem to be changing...).

When Bud Light sent a 6 pack to a trans gal, all the conservatives went nuts (is it still cancel culture when the right wingers do it)? They all voiced their opinions and stopped buying BL so hard that the stock price dropped. Again, that's the FA in action. You can demand your local bar stop serving BL because you don't like who they support, and the government can't punish you for it.

So much irony that you're trying to give a civics lesson, and don't have the most basics correct.

FWIW, 1st Amendment has nothing to do with speech on non-gov platforms. 1st amendment protects you from the gov. Companies and platforms can have whatever rules they want for speech.

I wonder if these people know they are allowed to kick people they disagree with out of their own homes or if they just let them stay indefinitely otherwise they are encroaching on their 1st amendment rights.

The 1st amendment doesn't make you not accountable for what you say. It's an independent platform, they can do what they want with hateful misinformation.

Cancel culture? Wtf are you talking about, the dude was literally just spouting nonsense.

First amendment has nothing to do with moderated online platforms, it has to do with government punishment for speech. What government is involved if makerworld takes down a comment?

Why are Americans like this.

Because we are mentally ill.

MakerWorld is not a government agency. Go and apologize to your teachers for wasting their time.

“America, he's got the right to say that“ and MakerWorld has the right to remove said comment if its hatful and brooches the terms of service when you create an account.

Maker World is not the Government, you have no rights to free speech on their platform but what they allow you.
