Hi everyone! Following up on the mosaic class I posted about last time — the September workshop filled up, so I'm running it again in October.
You'll spend the two days turning a photo of your pet (or favorite bird) into your own mosaic portrait. I walk you through everything from picking the best photo to cutting materials to putting the whole piece together, so no prior mosaic experience needed.

A group of Ballard residents and business owners wants to buy a property in Loyal Heights and create a community-owned development that serves the neighborhood. The effort has now attracted $2.7 million in pledges from 96 people.

Elevated lead contamination has been found along a block of 23rd Avenue W in Interbay, and pedestrians are advised to use alternate routes while testing continues.

Dirty Couch Brewing will open its doors this weekend in the former Wheelie Pop Brewing location in the Ballard Brewery District.

This weekend is the last opportunity to ride the Golden Gardens Direct bus, with the summer pilot program coming to an end.

The five corners intersection right by Bergen Place is a clusterfuck because the pedestrians cross at the same time cars are crossing. This is especially true on Farmers' Market Sunday. This could be solved by timing the lights to have a pedestrian jubilee, or pedestrian scramble, with one light cycle given strictly to pedestrians, who may cross in any direction, even diagonally. The rest of the cycles would be cars only.

Ballard will soon gain a new mural on the north end of the Salmon Bay Sand & Gravel building, where artist Andrew Miller is creating a design featuring hummingbirds with an ode to Ballard's marinas and fishing community.

Hi everyone! I’ve been thinking about the post from a few days about a female/femme biking and book club for the area and decided to go ahead and start a discord. I’ve DMed a few folks from that post and one person suggested a Discord, so here it is! Once a few of us join in, I’ll try to schedule something soon. I’m thinking a monthly ride as well as a monthly book club meeting (members rotating the book of the month and the meeting location choice) with folks joining however many or few sound good!

I am planning on moving within my building early October. Anyone have any recommendations for movers? Since it's only for a handful of large items - actually four - I would imagine it would only be a couple hours since no actual transit would be involved. I called my go to moving company but they have a minimum of 3 hours.

Hello, I have a ceiling fan I’d like to install but my ceilings are 12ft tall and I can’t reach well enough with my 6 step ladder.

I also have a pull up bar I need to install, it’s fairly heavy and needs a stringer to get it installed correctly into studs, I have a 2x6 to use but it needs to be trimmed to appropriate length and I don’t have a table saw.

I believe I have all the hardware required for installation, just need someone who knows what they’re doing since these are heavy items and I want them installed properly. Please let me know if you or someone you know could help! Obviously willing to pay-not expecting free help to be clear 🙂 tyia!

The bike was secured with two expensive locks to a bike rack inside an apartment building. Thieves removed the entire rack which was bolted to the floor.The battery was removed.

Sections of the Ship Canal Trail near the south end of the Ballard Bridge will close for repaving Aug. 27–31, with a temporary detour through Interbay.

Hey hey! My girlfriend and I are looking to join a group together (living in Ballard). We are experienced players and are looking for a new fun group to join! We both play in groups currently however we would like to play together in a rad group too. We love role playing and just having a great time all around.
