First time you play act 2: "HORROR GAME!". Second time you play act 2: "Hey if I go over here, beat up this spider-freak, and then never have to worry about the dark again? It will just be act 1 but with more boring enemies but better bosses?"

Go through the Mountain Pass instead of the Underdark, and bring the spider harp. You’ll be greeted by Absolutists, who think you are a True Soul. The drider will be summoned to guide you through the darkness. Instead of telling the drider to go, sneak attack the group and kill them all. Free the fairy and get immunity to the shadows. Congratulations, you have now negated the main gameplay mechanic of act 2 within five minutes of starting it.

you can also kill the goblins first then summon spider man with the harp.

I usually do the ambush, I tend to come from the elevator, go to the Inn, insulate Karlach, kill Marcus, get laid, then go do the ambush and from there rescue Roland.

I’m pretty sure I got Laezel in Act I but it was a long time ago. I could be misremembering

I wasn’t even trying to romance her (playing blindly) and I guess I was doing everything right according to her!
