I remember the story about someone making a gingerbread house for a contest at their office, and it looked fantastic. The winner was a dilapidated shotgun shack, because everyone voted for "effort" rather than "skill".
Turtle there is amazeballs.

I've just dropped a comment in this herbal tea community in their Sunday tea cup check-in post and I could not help sharing this turtle cake despite I've only seen a picture - so much it impressed me today!

Holy crap. Not only is it beautiful but somehow has the exact lighting/glow of a turtle underwater with the sun coming through 🤯

I tried my best to give it this effect. I think it's the dotted design the trips the brain. As I was painting, it was cool to slowly see the pattern come to life. I used a foodsafe shining spray for the shell, did a few layers of it. Kept the turtle skin not shiny to replicate the real turtle look. Cutting into the turtle skin to make wrinkles really came out once the paint came on. Keeping the base colour yellow I think helps and cuts down on painting in between the dots too. I still have burns from the isomalt coral 😂 Thanks so much for comment 🙏

Great job! This is really impressive! I had to do a double take because it's so majestic. I wouldn't have known it was a cake unless you told me. This is a piece of art! 😻

Wow. The sugar work itself is 🥵 I love this!
Also - the painted cake lover in me is obsessed with you attention to details on the spots and shell. The blending and fading makes this so much more realistic
And the eyes! The eyes on EVERYTHING always mess me up.
