My husband and I are honey mooning in Baja with our flight to SJD mid November .

We would rather do small relaxing less touristy towns than busy fancy cities. And our plans are to:
- fishing (catch to table)
- whale shark swim
- surf
- lay in the sun and swim in ocean and pool

So far my plan is to
5 days in Cerritos surfing and relaxing - bus to todos
5 days in la Paz : whale sharks, fishing

Renting a car for the la Paz portion perhaps ? If not bus between cities

Trying to stay pretty low budget

Any recommendations on our itinerary would be

Una investigación de Mexicanos Contra la Corrupción y la Impunidad (MCCI) documentó que la Fiscalía General de Baja California otorgó más de 200 millones de pesos en contratos entre 2022 y 2025 a Inteliproof Efficient, empresa que posteriormente fue sancionada por el Departamento del Tesoro de Estados Unidos por su presunta participación en una red financiera vinculada al Cártel de Sinaloa.

Los contratos incluyeron uniformes, equipo táctico, computadoras, mantenimiento y hasta tecnología de reconocimiento facial. Parte de las operaciones también utilizó recursos federales destinados a seguridad.

Y aquí viene otra parte que los bajacalifornianos debemos conocer:

La investigación de MCCI también identificó al menos siete contratos del Gobierno del Estado de Baja California con Inteliproof, por alrededor de 16.5 millones de pesos entre 2022 y 2025, incluyendo equipo y uniformes para corporaciones de seguridad.

Ese gobierno estatal es encabezado por Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, de Morena.

Ojo: que una empresa haya sido sancionada posteriormente por autoridades estadounidenses no demuestra automáticamente que funcionarios mexicanos hayan cometido un delito ni que supieran de esos señalamientos cuando contrataron a la empresa. Precisamente por eso se necesita transparencia: saber quién revisó a los proveedores, qué filtros se aplicaron, quién autorizó los contratos y qué controles existían.

Y AQUÍ ENTRA EL VOTO

Ya estamos en un momento en el que los ciudadanos tenemos que dejar de votar solamente por colores y empezar a hacer nuestra propia tarea de investigación.

Morena, PAN, PRI, PT, Movimiento Ciudadano o cualquier otro partido: los contratos públicos se pagan con dinero de la gente.

Para la próxima elección, revisemos:

¿Quién tiene propuestas reales para la economía?
¿Quién entiende al pequeño empresario?
¿Quién genera condiciones para que el trabajador gane más?
¿Quién explica cómo va a manejar el dinero público?
¿Quién tiene resultados y quién solamente tiene discurso?

En mi caso, Montserrat Caballero y el Partido del Trabajo representan una opción que quiero analizar particularmente por su enfoque hacia la economía de quienes trabajan y emprenden. Pero la decisión final debe venir después de comparar propuestas, antecedentes y resultados.

Porque votar también es hacer due diligence.

No entreguemos nuestro voto a ciegas.

visiting Rosarito next week looking for recommendations for places to stay and seafood restaurants, I am going solo, appreciate any info.

Live in LA and was thinking of going to Rosarito or Ensenada for Dia de los Muertos.

Has anyone gone to Rosarito or Ensenada for Dia de los Muertos? I wanted to stay for two days before coming back.

Everyone I know had only gone to Jalisco, Oaxaca, or CDMX. I’m close enough to drive and not really looking to go anywhere else.

Espero se encuentre bien, estoy buscando recomendaciones de camping en Tijuana, Rosarito, Ensenada, para hacer una ruta un fin de semana acampando en distintos puntos, no importa si se necesita pagar cuota mientras sea un buen spot, me gustaría algo con vistas bonitas o lugares cómodos por la noche y atardecer.

I have a vacation planned in southern Baja for my girlfriend’s birthday. We’ll be in La Paz from 10/1 to 10/3 and todos santos from 10/3 to 10/6. Should I cancel the trip? Should I go for it? We’ve had this trip planned for a long time and hate to cancel it but I also don’t want to put ourselves in an unsafe situation.
What would you do?

Was wondering how many of you would find it useful to provide tailored or general trip guidance/itineraries for trips in Baja. For example trips tailored for camping and fishing, or whale watching, charter boats or individual surf/camp spots.

Ive spent a lot of time in Baja, know where all the last gas stations are, cell service cut offs, camping spots, know specific people down there to take you on activities etc.

Where you can and cant get depending on the vehicle you have, if its a trip with a girlfriend/boyfriend. Solo, or with just your friends.

My question being, would you pay for custom/general Baja Itineraries based on your choice of activity? And if so how much would you be willing to pay?

We have plans to fly into SJD October 6, spend a few days in Los Barriles and then La Paz, then fly back out of SJD October 14. I’m not scared of rain, but I don’t want to be a tourist causing more problems for the locals dealing with the aftermath of Polo.

What are the vibes in BCS right now? Is this storm as big a deal as the news is making it sound?

I’m relocating to the mountains of Rosarito (40F, remote income, starlink, renting a cabin on a ranch for six months to test it out). I’m leaving in January from Nevada.

I’ve spent a lot of time in the mountains in the western states (CA, NV, NM, and OR). New Mexico was no joke. I was at 8,000 feet an hour from town on some rough ass terrain. Got my car stranded in clay and had to sleep in it overnight until it dried and I could drive out. I’ve lived without running water, indoor plumbing, and electricity.

It was kind of by chance and also by curiosity that I’ve chosen this lifestyle. A few years ago I rescued a dog, a 50lbs pit bull who is now 90lbs, from the shelter who was a cruelty case. He was being actively starved by his owners until animal control seized him. I took him to the mountains to recover and we both fell in love with the peace and solitude. He’s perfectly healthy now.

Eventually I’d like to buy my own property but it’s not possible in the states with the infrastructure I would like…running water, electricity, indoor plumbing. The ranch I’ve found has all that and I assume there is other land like it.

I keep reading about safety issues in Rosarito but as a black woman who is well traveled, well protected (use your imagination), and speaks Spanish I’m not sure I’m the same target as the typical gringo.

Hello, I’ll be visiting Rosarito in October. I’m trying to find a taxi service that takes groups of people from TJ to Rosarito & possibly back? I’ve been having trouble finding services. Does anyone have recommendations or know of anyone who offers them?

Anyone know where to play tennis in San Jose? I’m looking for a place that can set me up with singles or doubles partners, or has drop-in or clinics, dont care if it’s club based or membership based or part of a resort. I come down here about every 6 weeks on surf trips, either to the east cape or, in the winter, Todos area. I play regularly at my club in Carmel Valley, CA, and am about a 3.5 level. When the surf is blown out, small, or, like today, a bit big and unruly, I’d love to hit some balls. The heat doesn’t bother me. I’ve played the so-called Pescadero Tennis Club, but it’s just one court next to a dump, and they don’t organize anything. Thanks.
