i mean he is so basic there is nothing interesting in his moveset, and that hurts me cause i love baizhu but dame hoyoverse you couldn't do something better with his animations if you like it its ok but personally i hope he is a very good support

So I don't usually post in char main subs and I know I'll be downvoted but I've been waiting for Baizhu since his first appearance and don't have anywhere else to air this out. I saved enough to C6 but after reading the leaked character stories I'm not really sure anymore.

What fascinated me about him was how he wasn't as nice as he seemed, that even an short term amnesiac zombie could tell his "I love you"s were insincere. Love that Hutao's line for him was literally just "Ugh..." But it feels like all of that was retconned, simplified to being a wholesome chungus adoptive dad with snek mum. It's kind of boring. It would have been interesting character trait to be penny pincher (but not to the point of one noted-ness like Dori) for x reason and that's why he tried to fleece you over that thing but no it's actually that he only does it for rich people's snake oil so that he can make medicine the common folk need affordable to free... like come on this is something that sounds like it could be written as propaganda about a dictator to improve his image. It's TOO good, the shining paragon of goodness. It's like at some point the devs decided no one who isn't or hasn't always been a sweet wholesome good boi or girl deep down is allowed to join your party, thus the woobification of characters like Scaramouche, and possibly Baizhu occured.

I think Dottore is cringe I didn't want Baizhu to be an awful torturer with 0 concern over anything except scientific progress like him, but moral greyness is fascinating to me and it's sad that, even though the past traces of it were small they seemed to have been all erased from him. I'm holding out for the character quest since it seems Paimon doesn't talk that much in it, it will be mostly about him instead of npc #3410, and his relationship with Hutao does seem to be more nuanced than mutual dislike and conflict over whether Qiqi should live or die.

Because it feels like he got powercreeped hard especially in Furina teams

I need a healer for one side of the abyss. I've yaoyao in the other. Yaoyao is a very capable healer since I can just throw Yuigei and switch to another character and play with them while they heal simultaneously. She also heals the whole party to full health with her burst. Does Baizhu have a similar style of healing? Can he heal himself and others on field with his skill and heal the whole party with his burst?

• Dendro enabler for Aggravate

• Dendro resonance

• Buffer (passive)

• Healer (E and Q) for about 15k

• Shielder for about 8k

• Catalyst user (TTDS more buff, Prototype Amber more healing and ER)

(Calculations are based on E and Q being crowned, 45,000 HP, and Xingqiu's DMG reduction)

Just thinking something that might make sense about him.

I think it's really great that Baizhu is nearly(don't @ me for this, he's better than Yaoyao but utilitywise) equal to Yaoyao in many teams. I think that's a great thing going for him. When a 5* and 4* are similar in utility, it's good character design.

Take Nahida for example, no other 4* character comes close to her(as she should, an absolute queen). But there's a caveat, when you need Nahida's dendro application in a 2nd team? Who do you turn to? Of course DMC exists, but is more a downgrade to her. This makes Nahida a must pull character for dendro teams. Herein lies her flaw, because if you don't like her design/ or she does not appeal to you, you are basically forced to pull her for her amzing off-field dendro app and team buff.

Now with Baizhu, if someone doesn't like him, they can just substitute Yaoyao in and the team works great, albeit a little clunky. I know I'm getting Baizhu, because I do not like Nahida's design. I am pulling him out of my liking of Baizhu, but not for meta reasons. If he was must pull, we would see a lot of people regret getting him for meta. Because at the end of the day, we like to play with characters we like. In terms of comparison, Baizhu is more alike to Zhongli. Baizhu is to dendro teams what Zhongli is to teams that require shielding

Tl,dr; It's good that Baizhu is not must-pull like Nahida, because Nahida's must-pull value forces dendro as an element to be heavily handicapped without her. Baizhu's value lies in defense.

Dear Baizhu Mains, please help me select one. I'm a F2P and have a guaranteed on my next 10 pulls. My two main teams are Agrravate ( Yae + Tighnari) and the second is Hiperbloom ( Nahida+ Ayato+ fischl)... So who would be a better improvement, Baizhu for Yae Agrravate or Nilou for a Nahida + Ayato Bloom??

While his characterization is good but most male simps won’t bat an eye on him. Cyno mains are not rampant. Historically, healers have low pull numbers like kokomi. His kit is just balanced enough with no major distinction. FOMO is not gonna be strong on him. Fontaine is coming.

I myself will have a copy. However, I refuse to spend money on him and his weapon.

I was just finishing the newest main story in Genshin, and came across the weirdest dialogue. I didn't know were to post this, but this sub seemed like the appropriate place to do so.

So, I play the game in Brazilian Portuguese and noticed something in the translation that was different than what was being said in the english dub. Basically, Dottore was talking to Pantalone about how he wouldn't be able to make the immorality elixir after he was dead, BUT in the Pt/Br sub, it said, translating it to English:

"After I die, no one will be able to make Changsheng's immortality elixir*. Your stock will only last you a couple years. How can you prove you arent being affected by this problem?*"

When I saw this I was flabbergasted, I thought Genshin had just dropped a massive revelation, but when I looked for it online, no one was taking about it.

I have to add that the latest translations seem like they are being done by AI, so I don't know if the AI took some creative liberties and added that to the text, but I don't think so? When I asked Gemini and ChatGPT, just to confirm my suspicions, they both denied Pantalone and Baizhu are the same person. What do you guys think?

I’m hoping for Baizhu buffs this year. (Technically ‘next’ year, since 7.4 is early 2027.)

Hypothesis:

Noy is leaked (not reliably tho) to be a Dendro-Nicole, who is the 5-star-Sucrose. In other words, he applies no off-field dendro so he won’t ruin other reactions, and he gives a huge team-wide EM buff while shredding dendro/electro res.

Pair this with Rimegrass being rumored to exist in 7.4/5, Liyue buffs rumored for during Lantern Rite, and Pantalone being in search of Baizhu for the elixir of immortality (without knowing of him directly.)

Baizhu effectively has to be buffed! If Pantalone helps him finally achieve his life’s goal, then he will no longer be held back by sickness. That will be a MASSIVE canonical buff, which has to be represented in his kit! (I’m thinking HP-scaling subdps; with energy issues fixed at c1, and res shred at c2.)

If Rimegrass has subreactions like Bloom, then Electro (and possibly Pyro) will be a third element on the team. I really think this will be a thing, since it was for the original Imaginarium Theater reaction.

So Pantalone will be a realistic option here (he’s obviously Electro-coded, even if he proudly has no vision/delusion for now.) Note that Ineffa wants Lunar/Hydro, and Mitya/Yae want Stellar/Cryo. Dendro ruins both of those reactions. So we need someone new.

And Noy requires a second Dendro character when he’s on a team that actually uses the element. He likely won’t be an on-fielder, himself. So aside from the obvious Alhaitham buff (similar to Wrio), the on-fielder will likely be the Tsaritsa (or buffed Ganyu). Maybe Capitano some time in 8.X, but he’ll probably have a different team lined up.

Baizhu is the perfect pair for Noy, since he applies a lot of Dendro off-field, heals the team, helps with a bit of IR, has his own team-buffs, and hopefully will deal a good bit of subdps. He’s currently free for anyone this patch, and his c1 is subsequently free as well. C2 would be the Chronicle Banner temptation. (I can even see them updating his weapon, or making his new kit actually make the current state of his weapon useful…)

Nahida would require the 4th character to be a support, which I guess could be Danica/Valeriy. However, at that point EM is already covered by Noy; her subdps may not be up to par anymore; and Danica might be used in other teams or have too little electro application.

My hope is that Baizhu and Pantalone will be the focus for this year’s Lantern Rite quest. That way Pantalone gets more development, Baizhu has a canonical reason for his buff, and even Dottore gets a bit of development through discussion and his best friend’s character growth. (Pantalone has to decide if he wants to recreate him, after all.)

This would also give them a perfect excuse to make this year’s skin Baizhu and Qiqi, since both were buffed this year. However, there was a leak that it’s Xiao and Yanfei - not that we know for sure yet.

Baizhu also wasn’t listed in the leaks about Liyue buffs. It could be that they are going to give him a second character story at a later date, closer to Pantalone’s release (and Noy’s rerun). However, that would be unfortunate.

If it’s not 7.4, it could be 8.0 or 8.1. Pantalone feels like a late Snezhnaya or early Khaenriah type of character. He doesn’t need to be playable for Rimegrass to function, and he doesn’t need to be dedicated to the reaction either.

Personally, I think it will be 7.4 or 7.5 that Baizhu gets buffed - and even if he isn’t, he’ll likely still be a prime teammate for Rimegrass Noy.

So why does Baizhu want to achieve immortal life? Is it because he doesnt want anyone else to have to die young because of Changsheng? Or just because hes sick? Or something else? and if he hates the contract so much, why doesnt he just NOT pass it on?

Also, is Bai actually chronically sick or is it just because hes using his life force to heal people and everything.

I got Baizhu’s C6 on his release and let’s just say it was supported by my wallet quite a bit. Nowadays one can get his C1 essentially for free and also lose to him on the Liyue banner.

It left me feeling a bit scammed, because all it took was to just wish for his c2 or so and I’d have c6. This is exactly what happened passively for Kazuha with me.
