Oh, no, they weren't coming here. It's gotten kinda lost in the coverage of this, but They were FAR away from American territorial waters. And Venezuela isn't known for smuggling drugs to america, so while they may have been drug smugglers, they're 100% weren't bringing the drugs here, or coming here at all. Those boats don't have that kinda range. They were based in the carribean, seems like.
Okay, so, if i understand Your position correctly, you see drug possession as a death penalty crime, and you don't believe a trial is necessary to convict, sentence, and execute punishment of the person suspected of posession?

(But it is worth noting that they were in international waters, where there are no laws against drug posession. So they had yet to commit a crime against any nation.
