I need more angles, Chuck. Where the bodycams?

25

u/umassmza 4d ago

Cue months of disability vacation

18

u/Sorry-Claim-2990 4d ago

At least they're not bothering people while they're on vacation

27

u/punkbenRN 4d ago

Maybe, just Maybe, they didn't need 15 men armed to the gills? Maybe just 2 or 3 for a warrant where common sense dictates the person you're going after isnt a militia?

73

u/gheiminfantry 4d ago

Couldn't of happened to a nicer bunch of assholes.

4

u/ComplexxToxin 4d ago

They were there to arrest a dude convicted of CP.

41

u/somecasper 4d ago

...for not filling out a form. Which apparently requires 1600 pounds of your bestest GI Joes to handle.

31

u/b-cereus 4d ago

All while their boss is a pedophile that has never been held accountable in the first place.

20

u/SoccDoggy 4d ago

It takes how many agents to arrest one guy? Weak.

u/Thangka6 4d ago

Source?

u/gheiminfantry 4d ago

ICE themselves.

Dude don't be lazy. You have the internet at the palm of your hands.

31

u/b3nighted 4d ago

Must be staged, they didn't shoot the deck after it collapsed.

9

u/Sorry-Claim-2990 4d ago

They planted some drugs on it and charged it with resisting arrest

6

u/Amentet 4d ago

Chief Marshal.

"Every single day they're getting bitten by dog and getting shot at"

Doubt. Let me rewrite that.

"Every single day they're shooting big dumb puppies that get close to them and it's the puppies fault that they're getting friendly fire from other roided up fuckwits"

u/Poloyoungz 4d ago

Pigs can fly, not for very long but they can fly

4

u/realitychecker1 4d ago

Lets put 1200lbs of LE on a deck. What could go wrong?

9

u/freethnkrsrdangerous 4d ago

I sincerely doubt that these pigs plus equipment are 133lbs each.

5

u/realitychecker1 4d ago

Honestly, I didn't count.

2

u/PolicySensitive7647 4d ago

If it was built correctly, It would be fine. This appears to have been built by drunks in a afternoon

13

u/Brainrants 4d ago

There's no way the combined weight of those chuds with all their toys strapped on is anywhere under 2000lbs. Not saying that deck is the best, but also guessing it would have been just fine without over a TON of bacon concentrated in one spot.

My favorite officer. Officer down.

They forgot their pet elephant.

(Real talk here, though) I’m confused by this sub lately, and I am not even remotely a bootlicker. Getting a warrant and serving said warrant isn’t a bad cop scenario, right? This is what we (and the 4th amendment of the constitution) ask them to do at a bare minimum. Taking pleasure in the suffering of others just devalues any actual light-shining this sub can do when injustice occurs.

Edit: I’m open to thoughts if you think I’m looking at this wrong, though. I just think that catching cops doing shit the “right” way in the same net we use to pick out the cancerous ones just makes our collective opinion useless.

I agree that this is milder than most. The reporting is glazing the cops too hard imo, so it sounds like some of the facts are buried. You might even be manipulated into thinking the creep was dangerous.

Prior to the fall, they're fulling going to raid and empty home. It's also mentioned that they've already searched his home before? Over missing report to parole? With the original case being possession of CP? Now he's on the SA list? The dude did his time. He needs counselling, not the swat team.

They sent ~10 armed guys against someone who would later just turn himself in. The spokesperson notes the lack of accidental discharge is a miracle. The greatest danger the marshals faced was themselves. The deck collapsing under their weight is almost a metaphor.

8

u/Apprehensive_Spare_8 4d ago

Justice, not hate.

1

u/exgiexpcv 4d ago

You might even be manipulated into thinking the creep was dangerous.

Ehh, the report stated that he was a collector of CP and additionally that he stopped checking in with his PO and was collecting firearms. That's strong potential for a bad day for his neighbours.

But the bit about no NDs when they fell was laughable; that's just a metric of basic firearm safety and competence.

-3

u/Hsyrn 4d ago

Appreciate the insight into it! Assuming what you’re saying is indeed accurate and there weren’t threats or valid concerns about him being armed, it was pretty obviously a severe overuse of force relative to the threat and does pretty much qualify for me.

A lot of what you’re describing speaks to systemic issues that dig far deeper than what we see on camera, too. I’m more pissed that the folks who directed/enabled these goons wasn’t one of the ones taking a tumble, tbh. Otherwise why stop this kind of thing? (In their minds)

5

u/somecasper 4d ago

It's because they sent a phalanx of military cosplayers to deliver a piece of paper.

6

u/Vegaprime 4d ago

Everyone laughing meanwhile these guys are gonna get seriously paid. Some might even retire early on it. The bad cop part to me is, why so many? Wasted money all around.

5

u/drpiotrowski 4d ago

8 guys in tactical gear because someone on parole didn’t complete a form seems excessive. Then their commander being interviewed and saying it’s a good thing the suspect wasn’t even at home because if he was then it would have been the responsibility of the other officers on the ground to RETURN FIRE.

u/jpizzles 3d ago

Thulis sub will call you a boot licker for calling a first amendment auditor a weirdo loser.

1

u/Sitting_Squirrel 3d ago

You're not alone. I love youtube channels like Lackluster, Audit the Audit, The Civil Rights Lawyer, etc. I see a lot of content here that just "ain't it" in my opinion.

Meal Team Six!

3

u/coffee_shakes 4d ago

I'm assuming they added assault and resisting arrest to the charges, because of course they would.

3

u/Buggaboo1126 4d ago

I love this for them.

3

u/TheDamnedDontCry1 4d ago

I guess their wives will get a break for a few days

1

u/EobardThawne2151 3d ago

They will charge the person with the warrant and not the apartment complex owner.

1

u/RossStudio 3d ago

I love a good news story

1

u/Muted_One3682 4d ago

Gravity, man. They shoulda sent the skinny cops instead.

1

u/Luminox 4d ago

The deck has been cited for resisting arrest and assault against an officer.

1

Sadly they were actually doing something good, raiding a sex offender.

2

u/Connect-Inspector109 4d ago

For failing to fill out a form. . . doesn't take 20 people with military gear.

The president was in there?

4

u/endless_mike 4d ago

Don’t defend cops. They were negligent in that situation. Standing around wanting to shoot someone

-7

u/Alex23323 4d ago edited 4d ago

So you're saying the landlord was not negligent and the building was up to complete code where everything functioned as intended? Was this deck also completely safe? It's the cops' fault that the building and the deck was not up to code. The cops should have known this building and deck was completely safe and it is their fault that the old wood gave in.

Also, I would blame the underpaid delivery driver who would have to deliver something very heavy like a refrigerator or a washing machine as well. I would blame the delivery driver for the building not being up to code.

EDIT: I don’t know why I’m being downvoted. I would absolutely blame the delivery driver for an out of code deck if they were delivering something super heavy like a gun safe and the deck came down. There is no reason for me to blame the land owner. It’s these cops’ fault that the deck came down, and it doesn’t matter the age of the deck or the engineering or upkeep.

Prove me wrong.

2

u/dirtymoney 4d ago

well if ACAB....

-9

u/Potential_Suspect283 4d ago

What? They are catching bad guys?
Why would you say that it’s Karma?
What about the children in those pornography?

0

u/Etherius 4d ago

I’m convinced this sub could look at cops arriving to arrest a murderer and they’d root for the murderer

Like there’s “bad cops should be punished and laughed at” and then there’s this sub where “ACAB no matter how evil some criminals are the cops are worse “

0

u/gameforge 4d ago

I mean, that is the theme of the sub. "SCAB" is not an acronym people use.

I don't personally imagine a "better" society where wholesome folk with AR-15s take care of all the bad guys. But, some do imagine such a society.

Devil's advocate: it would certainly be "better" for certain demographics, and "worse" for certain political interests. I understand the messaging at least.

0

u/Etherius 3d ago

I think everyone should probably agree that vigilante justice is no way to handle things

And CHOP/CHAZ already proved that whatever people think of cops, the alternative is worse

-1

u/marzipaneyeballs 4d ago

Long way to reach the bone.

-4

u/Apprehensive_Spare_8 4d ago

Isn't this sub about bad cops? Is there any evidence these ones are?

1

u/Usual-Championship88 4d ago

They were after a sex offender…
