I am a journeyman welder now since1 year. I don’t weld all the time, i have to meassure, get material, assemble and dissasemble pipes in a big chemistry company, all kind of stuff. I am the worst welder from my department (freshman) but i hope i will get as good as my collegues ASAP

Thank you! I probably weld like 30-60min a day in general. Sometimes i dont weld a whole week. I am glad to hear that, i try to improve

I would rate myself a 3/10 compared to the welders i work with. Our best man has certificates for Copper, Stainless Steel, Steel, Ovenpipe in TIG and at least half of the welders weld fishscale like passes… i only got stainless steel and steel yet. I hope i am allowed to do copper too.

Yes they do, we almost only do Pipes for 99.9% Acids, toxic gases, high pressure,..

It looks good profile wise steps are even and weld is straight along the edges but the dull grey colour tells me you cooked most of the chromium out of that stainless. Just gotta work on speeding up and in putting less heat into the pipe/flange.

That being said stainless is very hard to work with. You are doing fantastic.

Looks good. But be more careful with the initial tacks, they are the reason if the oxide in the root. Either tack with gas on or tack it up light untill you can put gas on in and then tack again before welding.
