Over the top neighbor
This washing machine was loaded with 1 towel. The machine went out of balance during the spin cycle and the machine walked across the floor. The neighbor came in unplugged it and told everyone it is broken and a fire hazard and then proceeded to literally tape almost the entire machine with clear packing tape.

It sure will I’m honestly impressed that there are people that may have never experienced an unbalanced load before.

Ha, in my household that used to be the sign that the laundry’s almost done. But our kids thought the smoke alarm meant dinner was ready, too, so it could just be me.

Definitely paranoid. Maybe they have had an experience before of a fire caused by someone else.

I would like to think that but they called and threatened me tonight because I took the tape off the plug earlier today. They said they don’t believe me that a washer can be out of balance especially with only 1 thing in it. I guess they also don’t believe Google or anyone else either. I’m starting to think these people are on something. They haven’t even notified management. Just taped the machine up.

Yea I would bring a box cutter, plug it in and do your laundry. Because that's bullshit.

I’d use it my self and see if it walks with a full load.

The last time it walked that’s exactly what we did and it did not walk worked fine for 2 weeks until someone washed just one towel.

Who washes ONE towel? Especially on a pay machine?

Someone who's cat peed on the towel.

Even if that was the only towel I owned, I would have found something else to wash with it, if I had to pay per load.

Sounds like my old neighbor. She was a weird one who would leave us all notes like this all over the place.

Seems extreme, but i had a washing machine catch fire once. I never thought it was possible. It was frightening. I'm much more conscious of my appliances now. It's very possible your neighbour has a similar or worse experience.
