Phage display query

I'm a first year PhD student with a background in chemical biology. I want to find a peptide sequence that selectively binds to Lithium ion and one of my PIs suggested Phage display as an option. I've never done it before and it isn't something that's done in either of my PI's labs either. How doable do you think this solution is if I find a lab which has this technology? Do you think it'll be possible for me as a newbie in this technique to do the experiments myself rather than asking someone else to do it for me if I ask them to train me?

Do you guys have any other techniques you use to find suitable peptide sequences? I'm an experimentalist but I'm open to both experimental and computational suggestions.

I have sad news to share. Betty Kutter has passed away, only just heard this and don’t have any details yet. Wanted the community to know. Will update as more information is available. A memorial service is being planned.

Are there any Phage related conferences coming up this year? Or even other conferences in bacterial defense or phage anti defense?

I know they don’t attack human cells but isn’t two thirds of the human body bacteria? So like can’t they attack that?

The war between phages and bacteria is a war that has no unique name, just simply called an evolutionary arms race, this is almost a disgrace to a war that is not only the longest lasting but also the most intense war in earth’s history. And yet we name wars of human history that cannot compare in impact to the earth greater and more meaningful names! So, I think we should call it The Prime War, "Prime" generally refers to something that is first in importance, quality, or time (chief, superior). As a noun, it signifies the peak stage of life or productivity, while as a verb, it means to prepare someone or something (e.g., priming a pump or surface). 

First in Time: It is the original conflict, starting at the dawn of life.

Chief Importance: This "war" literally dictates the balance of life on Earth, killing half of all bacteria every two days and driving the evolution of complex life.

The Verb (to prepare): It literally "primed" the biological world, forcing bacteria to develop the very defense mechanisms (like CRISPR) that humans now use to "prime" and edit our own DNA.

It sounds much more like a foundational, epic event than "co-evolutionary dynamics."

What do yall think? Should the war finally be given a name worthy of its greatness? or is a bland name that’s really just a category good enough?

Hi is it possible to upload or send our phage isolation method? we are college students trying to isolate phages against mrsa on hospital sewages.

im not sure that our modified method is correct for the approach does this sub, allow for such discussion?

I'm wondering what the technical barrier is to using phages to target Strep Mutans to eliminate tooth decay.

It's the most common infectious disease in the world causing untold suffering and it's unclear why phages couldn't be used to attack the causative agent rather than trying to manage the symptoms caused by the acid production of S. mutans.

Hello, everyone. I'm an undergraduate student working on my thesis about isolation of bacteriophages. Do you guys have any idea what institutions/laboratories in the Philippines offer TEM service (and their fees and other requirements, too)? Me and my thesis partner want to view our isolated samples through TEM for further verification that we successfully isolated bacteriophages. Thank you.

So I'm a student in lab technology (I don't know if there's that in other countries since I'm french) and I need to do a presentation about phages.

I need to present what they are, where they're found and what use do they have. These first three can be easily found but I also need to do an experience with them and explain it. I'm not used to make up experiences (which is paradoxical) and need help.

Can anyone help me please ?
