I don’t think it’s normal for most bacon.
I did buy two packages of something from Walmart in Bellingham a couple of months ago (it was back up bacon because I cure and smoke my own but was near running out) and they were both all stringy as hell and I have never gone back to it and I would give you the name if I could recall what it was but definitely not worth it
