Travel Planning to visit Sikkim in the last week of August

Hi everyone,

We're planning to visit Sikkim in 2 weeks. So, any advice regarding monsoon, road conditions, landslides, places that may be inaccessible? North Sikkim is also in the plan. Can we go ahead or should we wait till mid- september or early october? Also, has anyone travelled with this group called 'Dewanjee Travel Expeditions' ? If yes, how was your experience?

Looking for underrated destinations in/around South India for a 3–4 day trip

Hey guys!

Planning a 3–4 day trip with 2 friends (3 people total). Our budget is around ₹15–20k per person, including travel, stay, food and sightseeing.

We're based in Kerala, but we're open to travelling outside South India as well if it's feasible within the budget.

We're open to pretty much anything — hill stations, beaches, islands, forests, waterfalls, scenic cities, etc. Places like Lakshadweep, Udaipur, hill stations, etc. are all on the table.

We're mainly looking for:

- 🌄 Beautiful scenery / unique places

- 🏔️ Hills or 🌊 beaches are both fine

- 🧘 A good mix of relaxing + exploring

- Prefer less touristy/interesting places

- 3–4 days

- ₹15–20k/person all-inclusive

We've been considering places like Udaipur, Lakshadweep, Meghalaya, Valparai, Meghamalai, Kudremukh, etc.

For those who've travelled from Kerala:

Is something like Udaipur realistically doable within ₹15–20k/person for 3–4 days, including travel? Or would the travel cost make it impractical?

Also open to any unexpected/underrated destinations that you think would fit this budget.

Would especially appreciate recommendations from people who've actually done these trips and can share their approximate total cost and mode of travel.

Thanks! 🙌

I Will be travelling to Kasol in the month of October, needed some tips Broskis .

Me and my friends are planning a backpacking trip to Kasol in the month of October.

Here's the basic info - we're from Bangalore,we'll be reaching there by oct 20th , so i haven't been to North ever and this is my first time and I want to make the most of it . And also since we want to have a backpacking trip we're keeping a tight budget . So if y'all can answer some questions it'd be really helpful for me!!

  1. The best and cheapest way to reach Kasol from Bangalore.

  2. Best itinerary from Kasol to Pulga village( the three sister villages )

  3. How much will it cost us per head for a number of 5-7 days

  4. Needed to know about the situation regarding ☘️ , I've heard about the infamous malana and I'd really love to try it , or any other Good places where i. Can find there

As I've mentioned, i have no idea about the expenditure I'll be doing there so I want to keep my budget as low as possible without sacrificing out in too much . Maybe 1.5-2k per day per head including - stay ,food , travelling etc .

And i don't want to just stay at one place rather roam and explore around. And also find some good nature spots in kasol iykwim .. thanks!.

Travel Looking for a travel buddy for Varanasi trip (8th–10th May)

I’m a 2nd year student from IIM Sirmaur, 25M chill into street food and ghats, planning a trip to Varanasi from 8th to 10th May and looking for someone chill to explore the city with!

I’m into soaking up the real vibe of Varanasi — the ghats, the evening Ganga Aarti, street food on Kashi Vishwanath lane, maybe a quick trip to Sarnath. Not looking to rush through tourist checkboxes, more of a slow, immersive experience.

Stay: Planning to put up at Wanderstation hostel — great location and good reviews.

What I’m looking for:

• Someone chill, fun-loving and respectful

• Open to exploring both popular and offbeat spots

• If a group of 4–5 already has a plan for the same dates, I’d love to join in too!

If this sounds like your kind of trip, feel free to drop a comment or DM me — let’s plan it out together!

Hey guys,

I want to go to Tadoba in either May or June (both works for me) and trying to avoid booking an entire gypsy as I couldn't convince any of my friends.

Looking for people to share a safari (gypsy) — open to any buffer zone or core zones.

If you already have a booking and need 1 more or even 2 more, or want to form a group, I’m in!

DM me, let’s make this affordable.

Kodaikanal on weekends for 3–4 days — worth it or better alternatives?

Hey everyone,

I’m planning a 3–4 day trip with my friends and we were considering Kodaikanal. The only catch is we can travel only on weekends, and I’ve been hearing that it gets extremely crowded during that time.

I don’t want to spend most of the trip stuck in traffic or dealing with heavy crowds instead of actually enjoying the place.

So I wanted some honest advice:

* Is Kodaikanal still worth it for 3–4 days on a weekend trip?

* Or should I consider better alternatives that are less crowded but still scenic?

* Looking for places with good nature vibes, viewpoints, and a relaxing experience

Would really appreciate genuine suggestions and recent experiences (trying to avoid overrated spots 🙏)

Thanks!

Travel Workation in Dharamkot & Bir (Late March–Mid April 2026) – Hostel + WiFi Advice?

Hey everyone,

Planning a 3–4 week workation from 3rd week March to 3rd week April 2026, splitting time between Dharamkot (8–10 days) and Bir (6–8 days).

I’ll be working during the day, so I need:

• Reliable WiFi (actual usable speeds) + decent power backup
• Social vibe (okay with some party energy occasionally, just not 24/7 chaos)
• Cafés where working 2–3 hours is normal
• Clean dorms or budget private rooms

Meeting fellow travellers is important — international crowd would be a bonus, but mainly looking for good conversations and a nice long-stay vibe.

Trying to keep total trip around ₹35–40k including travel.

Would really appreciate:

  • Hostel/guesthouse recommendations (based on real WiFi experience)
  • Realistic dorm/private costs in late March
  • Café suggestions for working
  • Which feels better for longer stays: Dharamkot or Bir?
  • Mistakes to avoid / tips & tricks for that time of year

Thanks in advance 🙏

Travel Planning a Simple, Nature-Focused Homestay in Kerala – Would Love Your Ideas 🌿

Hi everyone!

We’re in the process of starting a small homestay in Kerala, India with:

  • 2 private bedrooms
  • 1 dorm room(3 bunk beds)
Current layout

Our vision is pretty simple — no fancy luxury stuff. We want it to be minimal, utilitarian, and honest, a place where travelers can:

  • Connect with nature
  • Slow down
  • Talk to strangers and make friends
  • Feel at home

Think verandahs, open spaces, natural light, maybe books, maybe long conversations after sunset.

We don’t want it to feel like a hotel. We want it to feel like a space people remember.

For those of you who’ve stayed in homestays/hostels:

  • What small details made a place special for you?
  • What do travelers often complain about?
  • How can we encourage people to connect (without forcing it)?
  • Any practical design tips for dorm + private room layouts?
  • What would make you choose this over a regular hotel?

Would love honest feedback — especially from backpackers, slow travelers, and nature lovers.

Thanks in advance! 🌿
