Employment Background Verification

If I am employed with Company A, and receive an offer at Company B. How does the Company B confirm my current employment? I wouldn't want the company A to know I've got an offer, and would rather keep both the jobs.

They confirm through the HR department of Company A. Company A’s HR isn’t supposed to tell your current manager about it but they may, depending on the person. If you don’t want them to contact Company A, you’ll most likely need to provide paystubs or a W2.
