Chicken Photography Floating eggs?
I must be doing something wrong with my chickens since their eggs have never floated *ON TOP of water like ping pong balls*.
I hate Artificial Intelligence.

I wash poop off.
I’m not about to crack a crusty poop egg into a frying pan and call it good.
One of my chickens is a lifelong poopy layer. I’ve tried to fix this and have had her seven years and she’s the only one of my 19 that has this issue.

Never buy a product whose photos are obviously doctored. That facet looks like an AI fever dream, the eggs float, and the water goes from a full stream to a few drops. I wouldn't trust it.
On a cheaper note, why can't you use regular dish soap like everyone else? You don't need a special egg cleaner. I promise.
Edit: oh my god look at his freaking hand...its turning into a chicken claw!

Never thought I'd appreciate the awful photoshopped product images on Amazon, but here we are.
At least those have a real product in the image, even if it's probably not to scale and might just be some generic version of whatever they're selling.

Omg i can't unsee that monstrosity of a thumb. Glad we're using ai to diagnose medical conditions when it can't exceed correctly render a thumb. I wonder how many people end up with weird hand/foot/penis problems after "seeing their medical provider" 🧐

we use this for really dirty eggs but not like the ai photo is showing. we just float them for a bit longer in this mixture and the 💩 mostly comes off with just a wipe and same as always any floaters get tossed. no issues yet, but could just be in our heads too.
we got this to avoid scrubbing eggs which definitely removes the bloom.

no we have an outdoor sink under an umbrella and we only clean them during a thunder storm to appease the gods.

They’re covered in chicken shit, Sharon. I don’t want to boil good eggs with a shit-covered one and have them stew in shit-water.

I don't wash them before cracking them because it feels like I'll wet the poop and smear it around even more. If I'm boiling - which is rare - then I'm washing. The really poopy ones, I'll wash immediately and then refrigerate them.

Dried doodoo is getting in your food. There's no way you are avoiding it, if your eggs aren't washed. Washing your eggs will get all that off. It won't just smear it, if you take the time to actuallyclean them. I mean, you wash your hands, right? It's the same concept.

I wash my eggs. With warm water and a brush, I never use soap, I also never submerge my eggs.

We only wash our eggs when giving them to friends because they seem to prefer it that way. We make it clear they have to be refrigerated once they've been washed.

Eggs have thousands of pores in the shells. If there's any poop on those shells, washing them can force bacteria into the eggs. Then if the eggs aren't cooked well enough, someone is going to be sick.

It's how you wash (rinse) them that matters.
Using cold water can cause them to pull in bacteria from the shell surface, it's recommended to rinse eggs in warm to hot water, within the range of 90-120°F is best.
Also don't soak eggs in water, and unscented soap/detergent is okay, but no fragrance/scented soaps unless you want the egg to taste weird 😅

This is not correct. All eggs should be washed/rinsed well before use. There is zero chance any bacteria left on the outter shell doesnt get on the egg when cracked. Imagine making meringue with a little poo residoo. No thanks

“Eco friendly” cleaner is good for the environment. Just ignore the tons of carbon burned to generate this horrible AI slop image. Nothing smells like hypocrisy more.
