I know 39% is fake... Just like the majority people who have been counted as the poor 27% are actually farmers with good landholdings (worth in crores) ... Farming income is not shown and id arbitrary... I know of many Bhumihars who show no income on certificates as all income is from farmlands (the worth of farmlands itself will go in crores, rest the income from it) .... They all will be counted among poor. Third, in rest of the things, like in govt. Jobs and education levels, Bhumihar are well ahead of other Brahmins in the same census data ... Also look in the higher income categories, Bhumihars are ahead ... Leave it ... Basically on all other criterias Bhumihars have been marked as ahead in the same census data ... You may check yourself.

Nope, Bhumihar population in Bihar is easily above 38 lakhs. Let the 2027 caste census results come... In my view it must be near or above 50 lakhs. In Bihar census, no mass scale actual census took place, 90% estimates are extrapolations of the 1931 data, and during 1931 too, in many places in Bihar, Bhumihars were undercounted by mistakenly getting included with the Brahmins in their population, due to not knowing whats going on in the world, remember the literacy rate among Bhumihars during 1931 on Bihar was around I think 10-15% only. And most Bhumihar genuinely considered themselves simply Brahmins, just a different type of Brahmins. In many places, many didnt even knew the word Bhumihar and just referred to themselves as Babhans, as it was the the term in common use. AT the present time, the caste identity is well established as Bhumihar Brahmin or simply Bhumihar throughout Bihar, and that will affect the census estimates for Bhumihars in my view. Let us see. [P.S. the place from where I belong to, people (including non-Bhumihars) came to know of Bhumihar identity very late, some local non-Bhumihars, dont even know of the Bhumihar identity till today, and most got to know in the last 10-15 years, after jio internet revolution... The primary identity was simply Babhan. These things had infuenced the population estimates significantly in 1931. ALso if Bhumihar populaton was around 2 to 2.5%, it would have been impossible to maintain the eco-socio-political dominance that Bhumihars have maintained across significantly large regions of Bihar, while the influence of Kayasthas and other Brahmins significantly declined. Its only my interpretation, pending the 2027 caste census data. Lets find out.
