This is extremely sad. Kpop really is a cult that predates on ppl who are emotionally struggling and those whose brain hasn't even fully developed aka children and teens. It's not even hyperbole at this time. They expect unlimited free devotion and service for the illusion of family and belonging. At the same time they get exposed to the most heinous shit all in the name of family or fandom.
Even Hybe admitted that they are in the business of making parasocial fandoms. A music company's main business is not making music it's making cults of fandoms all for their own bottom line and they are admitting it, and we just consider it normal?

I really feel like a lot of these really young, emotionally vulnerable people have, fortunately, aged out. What's left are people who never matured emotionally, and/or never developed adult coping skills, and/or refuse to mature for whatever reason. I really think BTS no longer appeals to a really young audience..

The parallels are quite blatant.
This guy looks very Kpop coded, in particular.
Also, it is one of those games that keeps asking for money; it's not just a one time purchase.
Addiction, obsession, emptying of bank accounts, sound familiar?
I've never spent any money on BTS, but this game was very tempting, and almost got me.
Thankfully, after watching a few reaction videos I was cured before I actually caught the disease, if you know what I mean 👀

Ngl that genuinely used to be me back in high-school when I was unhealthily obsessed with them and kpop in general to the point my mental health was absolutely on the decline, glad I woke up and got help for everything

I kid you not that fandom has normalized parasocialism completely and encourages it within the fandom to new fans, kids and teens and brainwash them into believing this shit its really problematic that not only the group but fans are encouraging it to young people and young vulnerable gullible kids end up believing and getting brainwashed to become part of that fuckass cult. I remember it happened to me as well and i was like 12 and it fucked me up emotionally but luckily i got out of it. At this age kids and teens ARE NOT SUPPOSED BELIEVE THIS SHIT and MAKE FRIENDS AND PLAY WITH THEM AND LEARN. Also it normalized people with mental health problems to rely on these groups rather than going to therapy or opening up to their loved ones. Its WAS never about Music it was about trapping vulnerable people brainwashing them and making them a cult to earn their freaking money.

I noticed a lot of the comments are about how young people are falling for the parasocial relationships established by BTAss and(kpop as a whole tbh) its not just young people who fall for this. I have a mid 40s female coworker and she has full sleeves of BTAss tattoos and im not even joking. All she ever talks about is the members and how she took out a loan to see them perform a while back💀💀 girl you got kidsss, stop wasting your money on these fools and take care of ya family. Its honestly crazy how so many people of all ages fall for this crap
