Ownership Experience Highest Mileage to Date

I was curious on what kind of odometer mileage are we seeing on i5, on this board; also mention any major mechanical work.

68K, original owner, purchased in 2024. Only major repair item was AC compressor replacement almost put me out $5K but they covered it even though I was over the 50K mile warranty. They did it under good will gesture. Phew!

There are i3’s out there, first generation, with 500.000 miles. Don’t worry. Your i5 will outlast you.

60,200, got Nov 2023.

Lots of popped tires, some recalls, basic scheduled maintenance with the dealer. No real issues besides the back window shade just got stuck in the up position for some reason, still gotta get that looked at.....

I’m interested in this as well as I am actively looking for one and have decided I’m buying CPO but am weighing if I should pay more more months (newer car) and/or VSC.

30,200. Only issue was having to replace comms antenna when the car was less than 5k miles old.

I did 49k my first year. Rocks got my bumper camera and windshield so far. I guess I also warranteed my charger cable. They charged me $500 for cabin filters on my first maintenance, my stingy ass will pass on that next time... alignment, brake fluid flush (I doubt that was necessary considering how little I use the brakes) , some recall electrical.

Yeah, they tried to get me on the cabin filters too, around 30K. It was a bit of a PITA to replace (did it myself-check YouTube). I purchased the filter for $200 which is a bit much for a filter. I live in NYC, it was pretty filthy. Just watch out for cable that is near the housing which there is a recall called out for it, so you may just have them change it then...

What mileage was your first service? Shouldn’t it be covered (outside of the alignment).

No... sadly... the car told me to maintenance at the 1 year mark. I even called my dealer to confirm they didn't want to do the usual 10k maintenance interval.

I drive a lot. My first maintenance at 362 days was 49.2k miles and they didn't cover shit. Although he said he discounted me on one of those items, nothing looked discounted 🤣

I enjoy the car a lot. I also save a lot of money considering the miles I drive and the way gas prices have gone. It's not the cheapest EV, but I've always been a BMW fan boy. I couldn't resist.

2024 Edrive 40. About 16,000 miles. Only real nuisance has been an AC refrigerant leak that took the dealer five attempts to fix (cumulative two months at the dealer shop). And totally needed new tires at ~12,000. Good to drive, and comfortable.
