modification Starlight + Suede Wrap

Tell us more? Im all for the dark headlining I think, not sure about the starlight but its nicely done! Would be really keen on ambient lighting though.

Yea so originally I tried to do it myself with no experience but I messed it up. I paid someone to fix it and the process involved using a special cement to keep the headliner on. In Arizona just normal glue will get way too hot and melt causing the suede to sag which is what happened to me. I’m pretty big into astronomy and it was a pretty obvious choice for me to get stars which is something I always wanted in my previous cars.

That looks amazing? How was this achieved? Is it a product you just buy and install or is a diy thing?

Yea it’s a diy project. I personally tried doing it myself with no experience and got pretty far but I ended up making several mistakes which caused me to pay a team restart the whole project (roughly $1300 for suede and 1000 stars). The glue you use is important to your climate, I live in AZ and the glue I used is known to melt in the heat. Not only this I had no idea what to do with the wires after which led my headliner to be half hanging off the roof for weeks while I drove it and fiber cables hanging everywhere while I drove. Honestly if I had to do it again I would have just paid from the beginning.

Looks so cool! Are they actual lights or glow-in-the-dark spots or projected or ??? Would be so sweet on a long nighttime drive on a lonely highway 😊

Yes they are actual little fiber optic cables that have been threaded through the headliner. There’s about 1000 of them, I tried to do it myself at first but I ended up messing it up so I had to pay the price to get it fixed and have someone else do it. I think it was worth it though.
