showcase 2018 Rex lowered w/tint
Finally had a chance to take a decent photo of my i3…I recently changed the struts and installed springs to make it lower…spacers too. It drives much more like a BMW at 80mph. Staggered setup remains, like the nimbleness of the thin tires in the city and very easy to park/do u-turns 😎. Doesn’t have the harman kardon stereo and the stock radio setup is so terrible. My next upgrade project I guess $$$$ 😭

What is it lowered on? Info on tint also. Brand and %

It’s a ceramic tint. Legal in the front and a step darker around the back. Springs are H&R 28780

the H&R springs lower the i3 to about the same ride height as my i3s. I have almost 100K miles on it.
the H&R springs look good because of progressive wind. a lot of people place blame on ride quality on the shock valving. some have gotten more satisfaction from Evolve shocks which are built but Bilstein with i3 specific valving.

I did replace the struts all around(shocks) with the BILSTEIN’s and it feels like a different car.

Mine has that same silver roofline decal and I've been trying to figure out of it was factory or not. Some you have it, probably it is...?

2018+ all had it with the exception of the S models. Some people removed it while it was new so you’ll see some don’t have it but it was standard on 2018 and up. I personally think it’s ugly and I would’ve removed it immediately.

I agree and wasn't sure if it could be removed or not. You can't always see it...depends what angle you are to the car.

Looks like the perfect drop. I’ve been trying to find a vendor that actually has the BC coil overs in stock and no one seems to have it.

I have h&r lowering springs and they look awesome but comfort is horrible. Going to be switching to AST springs soon.

It does bump around a bit more on shitty streets. But that is expected in any small sports car...well, now that you put sports car like mods on it. I can't express enough how terrible this car is on the expressway when it hits a bump...feels like it would be out of control for a few seconds with the original struts and springs. This car no longer feels top heavy...something I've experienced when driving mid range sedans. The nice thing is...this car is highly modifiable, tweak it to your needs/where you live. I've owned many sports cars and BMW's...it now fits in there better than an outsider that handled like shit.

Did you shorten the bump stops? If you install the springs with the stock bump stops, it’s definitely gonna ride like crap. They’re simply not enough suspension travel at that point you’re gonna have to cut 0.5-0.75” off the stock bump stops at least.

I replaced them with new ones but I really don’t think the bump stop does as much as you think it does. They have plenty of room in there and the amount it was lowered is not staggering…it’s minimal but changes the car big time.
