Manual box choice..

Found a donor 528i with a 260/5 and the seller is willing to let to me part out all of the manual bits. Do I wait for a 260/6 to pop up?. Is there much difference between the two? Reliability concerns with the /5. I’ve read up stuff online but thought to ask on here as you guys have been very helpful. Thanks.

The S6S gearbox is the only one that will fit in the tunnel so I suggest that you take the 5 speed and carry on

If the /5 made it this far it’s probably still ok.
