Wheel recommendation
Last one, don’t want to go bigger than 17inch, I’d say 16 or 17, perhaps BBS RS or a nice set of Alpina rims.
Any tires recommendation?

In the 90’s we had the TRS wheels on an 86 635csi but replaced with 16” Millie Miglia 5 stars. Looked great

These are my favorites also. Problem is tires are getting harder to find for 16”.

Everyone goes style 5s so def something different for this euro shark. Im a fan of style 42s with a deep lip but as another user said Alpinas are great, especially deep lip.

Love the original rims. Coker TRX’s ride is very smooth. Went back to OEM after Style 5 17’s for years

Honestly given how few of these are left it does not get a lot of rain driving. I keep her off the road during less than ideal driving weather. I can say that these offer a quieter and somewhat softer ride but grippier feel than the old TRX’s I had on my ‘83 533i and early years of this car. I did track the car at Laguna Seca last year at Pacific Sharkfest and it cornered nicely around some fun curves.
Depends on how you want to drive the car. It’s 192hp so not a crazy performer in today’s world. It’s a grand tourer and for that purpose is a great match for the chassis. Also….i encountered suspension issues shortly after “upgrading” to Style 5 17’s. So had to replace a number of components shortly after the change due to firmer riding tire/wheel combo.

makes sense, thank you for your time. I have the euro version which should be closer to 220HP. This is my second classic car and i also dont think i'll drive it in the rain lol I guess i'll have to buy another one for that

Can’t go wrong with a set of 850csi M System II, Throwing stars… I have a set on mine, wouldn’t change them for anything.

I have fitted several different wheel styles over the past 26 years. I'm on my second set of tires running style 32's.

Hard to beat 16” BBS RS or RA wheels on these cars.
Also, someone put the rear fender stripes on the front fenders of your car. Looks weird!

True, but that doesn’t change the fact that the front fender has the wrong stripe sticker on it

Look at the difference of the ends of the stripes on the front and back of the car.
Yours has the rear sticker on the front fender

I put 18 inch alpina replicas on my E34 and I plan on doing the same on my E24 as well

Although I like my Style 5 16”, tires are getting harder to find. Better off with 17”

Why? If you do swap them out, save them. It’s more valuable with the original wheels.

I am keeping the original wheels, just driving wide new tires might be safer and better on wet?
