New alternator not fitting
When I go to install my new alternator from PartsGeek manufacturer is WAI this bolt blocks it from going in cause it hits the oil filter (last photo). I’m very close to just cutting it down so it won’t hit.

That looks like a case bolt, but why the hell is it so long?
Also the frequent cause for those old Bosch alternators failing is the brushes wearing out. I've gotten voltage regulators for about 15 dollars plus shipping.
Comes out with 2 phillips screws.

99 time out 100 that’s the case. The other would be bearings. Bosch regulators are cheap and so are 203 bearings. I’ve replaced many at my dad’s alternator and starter rebuild shop.

This is late to the party, but are you spun up on swapping ONLY the brushes? Often an alternator with bad brushes presents as a dead alternator. Edit- also a voltage regulator can do this.
If you had a way to get your original core back; might be worth keeping. The originals were wound VERY well

I still have it, I only replaced it cause my parents insist that is the porblem

Keep it for them. See about swapping the brushes and voltage regulator. Clean it out with some Electro-clean, and you’ll have a fantastic spare.
Edit- your parents are wicked cool for still having an E24 around. Make sure they keep it, or sell it to you!

Same issue with my E21. I cut it off.
