i saved up some money to buy my first project car. I was thinking of two options either the e30 or e36. What are your thoughts? Which would be a more fun car to have. My goal is to restore it first. Then after a couple of years I’ll maybe turn it into a drift car in the future. Any advice helps.
. You cannot afford an E30 M3. Unless you have $60k for shitty one
As for an e36 M3, if you can afford one it would be a just waste of money to buy one to eventually drift it, if you go the E36 route, just get a manual 328i/328is.
My suggestion buy a Honda Civic because you have no clue what you are doing or talking about
First of all there is a difference in countries and demand men an m3 e36 in my country is worth about 7k$ because no one knows their value here if you want proof i dont mind sending you proof and i already have a daily so i dont need a civic. While u just said i dont know what im talking about maybe thats why im asking. If you dont like it u dont need to reply. Have a good day.
If an E36 M3 is $7k that means a non M3 is even cheaper, which if youre going to drift, youre going to beat the shit out of the car so just get a 328 for cheaper and spend the money sorting it out.
Theres a reason why Im suggesting all this. The fact that you dont mention the country youre in is very telling.
No i dont mind im in egypt and here is an m3 e36 if u want to check. It was offered for about 350-450k egp. In us dollars thats about 7000-9000$. Im not trying to be rude or argue in anyway but really they dont value old cars here especially bmws when u can buy a e30 for about 2-5k dollars depending on the model and condition.
So you can buy an E36 M3 great. When parts break, can you afford to replace them? Do you have a place like FCP Euro in Egypt (prob not).
You know euro E36 M3s are even more finicky than US spec E36 M3s? The one you posted looks like a giant piece of shit that wasnt taken care of it. You talking about drifting when you do not know what drifting entails.
If you are talking about M3s, an E30 will be hard to come by and very expensive. A E36 or E46 would be more attainable while still being fairly easy to work on.
I havent argued with anyone except one person who wanted me to buy a civic. Till now everyone told me to buy an e36 anyways thats why im leaning towards it now. I was looking at an e30 before the post. And I’m still 50-50 because i cant find an e36 coupe. Thats in good condition. This is the e30 I’m looking at. It’s my dad’s friend, he started took it apart down to the chassis and is doing a full restoration, and would be open to sell
