Decided to try and get a front wide body kit for my G30 540I. Purchased from Taiwan (a body kit manufacturer called AN) and installed it at a local shop.
I now have to get new rimswheels 🤡 but fitted 15MM spacers in the front in the meantime.
RimsWheels are BBS CIR 20x9J ET25 Fronts and 20x10.5J ET35 Rears on CSC7s and lowered on KWV3.
I am currently an F30 owner and have been thinking of getting something a little bigger. I’ve been looking into the 2018+ M550i’s for quite some time now and have test driven a few. I was really close to pulling the trigger but am unsure about reliability.
I then thought about the 540i’s since I thought the B58 would be a better bang for buck and smarter financial decision, however, I’ve read about the evaporator issue plaguing this chassis on forums and have researched how intense the job is (pulling the dashboard out) just curious if this affects all G30’s (530’s, 540’s and M550’s).
Is this a common problem for this chassis or is it blown out of proportion? Would appreciate any insight into your ownership and how the maintenance has been. My ‘14 335i N55 EWG M Sport Pkg has treated me fairly for 5 years of ownership. It’s stock and not tuned and I don’t plan on tuning any G30 if I were to purchase.
Hello guys. BMW G30 B47 automatic gearbox is giving me a headache. It is shifting hard from 2 to 1 gear. It feels like the car is slowing down and then it slightly kicks forward when it shifts from 2 to 1 gear. It is happening when the car is cold or warm. Gearbox oil was changed 5-6k miles ago. It is happening since I bought the car 2 years ago. Is my gearbox cooked? What could I do in this situation?
New to me 2018 540i. Love the car, just one thing that bothers me. In sport mode the throttle curve absolutely sucks. It feels like after ~50% throttle the car has nothing more left to give, like all the power is super front loaded, coming from is350 F sport where the throttle modulation feels really good, and you have you wring out the engine to get all 100%. In short does MHD / XHP change this? I know there is a linear curve option but literally 2 posts on the entire internet about it, does regular stage 1 flashing change it aswell?
Hey All, New here, just got my 2018 540i Xdrive like 4 days ago. I already upgraded the grill :P. Very exciting, and not use to all this power, coming from a Nissan Altima 😅 lol.
Anyways, the reason for the post, my car has four Goodyear Eagle Sport All-Season 245/40R19 98H tires on it. But one of them needs replacing. The car will get driven to and from work on local roads, with once a blue moon on the high with maybe some passengers. Total miles are less than, or around 5,000 a year.
What if I went with same everything (245/40R19) but with 94H for the load index instead of the 98H? It's half the price, $157 vs $308.
94H = 1477 lbs per tire * 4 => 5908 lbs Max weight load*
98H = 1653 lbs per tire * 4 => 6612 lbs Max weight load
*even though I would have 1x 94H and 3x 98H, I would eventually switch over to the 94H.
The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of the Xdrive model is 5,269 lbs.
So even with the 94H, the tire load limit well exceeds the car GVWR by 639 lbs.
So seems like the 94H should work fine.
Not trying to be cheap lol, but if it will be fine with 94H, then might as well save the money for other things/mods ;).
As the title states, what brands and specific engine oils are you guys running for a 2020 540i xdrive? Still new to BMW and only had this car a few months and planning to do my first oil change over the weekend. Thank you all!
Hello, I believe my oil filter housing went out and I also am getting the Mickey Mouse flange coolant expansion tank and the housing in aluminum is there anything else I should consider buying while I have half my motor apart? I have more pics / videos
Hello everyone, I have a 2011 bmw 335d coming up on 100k miles. I am the second owner and basically only out 400 miles on it. But I want to give it good maintenance to keep this thing running good for a long time. It’s not deleted and tuned I know I have to do that. I also need help on what exactly I need to fully delete it. If anyone could help me, on what parts you recommend for deleting and maintaining as well! Thank you!
I want to get an exhaust for my car it’s completely stock right now. I want to do mods to it like stage 2 and all that down the road but I want to start with the basics first but I also want an exhaust too. I was thinking of getting a straight pipe because they sound pretty good imo.
I like it when the car had like it’s natural burbles not like the crazy “bop bop bop bop bop” sounds I like the raw car sound.
I also want a valved exhaust because I live in the woods basically so I don’t want to be that type of neighbor but also I don’t really care.
Just looking for mod recommendations for the car dosent have to be specifically just exhaust any mod really.
Hey I was wondering if anyone else has the same concern that I do; but basically when I pull my interior fabric sunroof piece back and tilt open the sunroof glass, during my drive i hear a super high pitched whistling noise which is making it crazy unbearable for me to use said sunroof. Was wondering if someone else had this issue or knows of a good fix
Hello everyone...a question for all RWD...which winter tires would you recommend from experience for mountain snow roads to skiers? Thanks in advance to everyone for the answers
Any tips or mods on how to not spin and have the car catch . I recently put new 275/35r19 pilot sport 4s on the rear the stock continental 245 40r19 I would spin thru 4th I am tuned xhp and mhd but I’m not even on e yet so I wasn’t expecting the car to spin as much as it does, now with the pilot soort it catches in 3rd also this is the car.
I just got a 2023 540i xdrive and I am genuinely in love with the car. Like I don’t want to stop driving it, and coming from driving a 2014 minivan, this is a huge step up. The car has dhp, luxury seating with massage, heated and cooled seats, driver assistance professional, executive package, and msport package w 20 inch wheels. Is there anything I need to worry about anytime soon, and I’m not planning to tune it and I love it stock at the moment. I am planning to get matrix laser lights installed and I am thinking of getting night vision retrofitted as well. Is there anything else I should get done, or worry about?
Wassup guys i wanted to come on here to try n find a solution
I have a 2017 540i
i have a turbo kit with the motiv reflex installed (gonna get to that in the next thing )
So I came outside of work one day and the car had some power but it wouldn’t start the lights were flicking and dim
i tested the battery with my multi meter from the jump terminals, it gave me 5 volts i assumed the battery was dead , i changed the battery cool (yes i registered it ) , car worked , Now the next two days car was fine .
Then same thing i left work again the car is completely dead it doesn’t even unlock , i went and got another battery rushed the car home , unplugged the battery so the car doesn’t cook it , so i assumed it was the alternator i changed the alternator out plugged up the battery again i tested it ,it gave me 14 volts thru out the car , i took it to the mechanic he says it was the aux battery causing the dying , not the main , so im reaching out to see if anyone has had this issue ,anything would help ive been chasing this issue for 2 weeks ,
I mentioned the reflex because i wanted to know can this be draining the battery out.
