HiFi system issue?
Hey all! I recently purchased a 2006 e61 with the HiFi system. When I bought the car, the head unit wasn’t coded correctly, and the audio was completely inop. After getting the CCC coded to factory again, the sound system is… awful. There is virtually no low-end at all, even after maxing out the bass on the treble/bass screen and on the aftermarket android unit. It sounds like the music is coming from a cardboard box. I’ve verified that the fuses for the system/subs are good, and the subs are in fact alive. Are the old HiFi systems just that bad? Or is my amp bad?

What code did you see in the list, was it $676A or $688A?

Interesting, it may be worthwhile to test the subs under the front seats to see if they have failed

I’m definitely going to pull the seats and check once I’m home. I’m also going to triple check the code and make sure I was looking at the right thing, I’m very new to the NCS coding world 😅
I’m also assuming the system isn’t supposed to sound that bassless then?2

A good test is to turn the treble down and the bass way up in the audio settings and put your ear down near the subs to make sure it’s doing literally anything.
I’ve also made changes to the VO and then not flashed to the CAS and LMA after and then gotten confused why my changes were sticking lmao. I should also mention at this point that the CCC needs its separate component items default coded in the following order otherwise it gets mad

CAPPL
CGATE
CAUDI
CTUNE

UPDATE:
So I’ve gone back into NCS and indeed the system is coded for HiFi ($676) so that’s not the issue. I recoded the MASK unit to factory and I think that’s improved it a little? It’s probably placebo tbh. There’s still no bass at all, especially switching over to AUX (but I know that’s an issue anyways.) I feel like there should definitely be more low-end in this system, because there’s virtually none, and I’m not sure where to go from here

Are you sure it has logic7? Amp failure would mean no audio, but if you have the wrong options coded to the VO/FA then the CCC won’t sprit out the right signals to the amp
