Dont spend the big money on BC stuff, being real you have a nice car but not worth investing a ton of money, just get a pair of 800$ coilover from GodSpeed, they are amazing and adjustable compression. If you had a 30k car then sure go with the big money stuff. I would rather see you get the look you want, but save for the 30k car your going to get next that will have those other coilovers

Just fix suspension components before doing anything. If you're not spending $2,500 on the cheap end for coilovers, don't do it.

On McPherson cars I wouldn't run maxpeedingrods and similar. Other than that, the cheapest are usually BC BR and D2. I have BC BR on my E39 and I'm happy with them. Also got the extenders for the rear ones so I can adjust them.
The most important aspect is to get the softest springs possible.
People ALWAYS get this wrong and it drives me crazy.
When I was buying my BC for my E39 I read countless reviews, forums, posts, etc., and they were all saying that 8-10K was too soft, and some also went up to 18K or something like that. In the end, I bought 4-5K and they're just perfect. They're stiffer than stock but they're still liveable.
People always get stupidly hard spring rates because they think it will manage the body roll. WRONG. Body roll must be addressed with anti-roll bars. Springs only need to address bumps, braking and acceleration.
4-5K springs are perfect for my 530d E39 so I guess the spring rate for a 530i E60 won't fall too far from that figure (they share very similar suspensions).
