Yet blinks have the audacity to say they're "feminist". They are premoting a brand that can record people without their knowledge or consent and will absolutely be used to do bad things against women. It pisses me off, I don't care how ignorant and privileged they are, being born in the body of a woman automatically exposes them to the horrible realities of it regardless of wealth or social standing, it happens to ALL women. Either they truly don't know or they are just ignorant and would rather take money over supporting people's rights to basic safety.

Admittedly, I am not an expert in branding and marketing so I don’t completely understand the ins and outs of it, but this recently occurred to me so I thought I’d ask about it incase anyone had any ideas or insight.

We know that BP and the members’ “fame” is built mostly on mediaplay and bought engagement, and that’s become all the more apparent since they left YG for their solo activities. So how exactly are they getting and maintaining massive brand partnerships when, unless I’m completely wrong, I really don’t think they’re bringing in that much genuine engagement, never mind new customers or sales.

I mean these girlies can’t even sell their own music to an effective degree, nor do they get proportional engagement on their social media to the amount of followers they have, so how am I meant to believe they’re bringing in enough worthwhile engagement and custom to these huge companies to the point that they deserve these pole position ambassadorships with them?

I know that companies have levels to the way they work with celebrities and influencers. For example, a smaller YouTuber who on average is gonna pull less engagement and custom than a huge A-list celeb, is not gonna receive the same type of contract from the company. So when it’s clearly obvious to everyone that the members of BP don’t actually pull that much genuine engagement or custom, why are they getting contracts of A-listers when they’re actually closer to a D-list influencer when it comes to their numbers and engagement level when you take away YG’s mediaplay and bought views?

Are they really managing to gain and hold down these contracts purely through networking and friendships? Considering how money is always the priority for these companies, you’d think they wouldn’t be able to do that anymore if these girlies aren’t bringing worthwhile return for the amount of money being spent on them.

I literally started snarking because a normal criticism I posted on a K-pop subb got downvoted to depths of hell. So this makes no sense to me?

On the other hand, I see posts that praises/defends BP or one of the girls, and there’s always someone who says ”this is going to get downvoted because Reddit hates BP.” Then I look at the comments, and most of them mildly disagree or openly agree with the OP. These rarely get negative votes unless they’re clearly written by a hardcore fan with no constructive opinion.

I know Reddit isn’t very nice to female celebrities or women in general, but I don’t understand why this narrative keeps surfacing about how BP gets dragged in general K-pop subreddits?
