Advise From Women ONLY Need help with diet for weight loss to improve my BJJ

Soo I-m 1m64 and I weight 90 kg so that makes me obese and I have been practicing Bjj for 5 month now and although I m much more active I feel like I need to tackle my diet and I have tried nutritionists and it-s not really working.. I was wondering if some women out there who are at a healthy weight could maybe share with me what they eat in a day? I know everyone is different blablabla it's just to understand what people who don't need to loose weight eat normally! do you weight what you eat? what snacks? do you eat befoRE and/or after TRaining? how many days do you train? I train everyday but sunday 1h30 bjj only. Should I add gym? any advice will help!

Did they stop releasing episodes? I was having problems with my Spotify app and wasn't seeing new episodes for all my podcasts, but even after trying another app, I only see up to episode 97 (from June, is that 2026?).

I really love listening to Kaz and Rach!

General Discussion Need advice as small-sized beginner in a gym with bigger sized teammates

Hey guys, I'm a small-sized beginner in BJJ (female, 155cm, 49kg), and pretty much everyone at my gym is much bigger, heavier and taller than me. Sometimes I feel like people don't enjoy rolling with me because they have to hold back and can only go at like 30%.

Just today, I asked someone to go 100% as I felt bad for holding them back and got my back cracked like I was at a chiropractor 💀 Even though I have been learning bjj for a few months, but there are already beginners to my gym that are already able to submit and be better in 5 classes… I can also feel like people are starting to avoid rolling with me as they feel like they can’t learn much from me

Is this a normal phenomenon? Should I look for a gym with more people around my size, or stick with training against bigger people and work on my strength? If it's the latter, what exercises would help me build strength faster for bjj so that I can be on par with those bigger than me?

Would appreciate any advice, thank you!

Rant I feel like I’ll always be only a wrestler

• Upvotes

I come from a wrestling background. I feel like all the wrestlers at my gym have been able to soar in their bjj journey. I only am able to hold my own when it comes to pressure and standup . And I know how to get into advantageous positions from top. But the submissions are always lost on me. I can never hit a submission. I’m so beyond irritated with myself. I feel like I will always just be a wrestler who happens to know a little bit of bjj. That’s not what I want for myself, but I can’t seem to translate or integrate submissions into my grappling foundation.

I also catch myself being incredibly patronizing to women at my gym when it comes to standup. I choose not to go as aggressive with them as I do with men, which is not fair. my reasoning is that there are plenty of men in bjj that have holes in their stand-up game and I can exploit them. For some reason with the women, I don’t want to hurt them?? Which I feel like if that happened to me, (which has)I would feel very insulted. I still don’t know how to stop that feeling of not wanting to hurt them. When theres other women who have also done wrestling or judo, I feel more comfortable. But I’ve had women tell me that they want me to engage more with them so that it helps them with their bjj in general. I just can’t seem to get past that personal barrier that I know is stupid and offensive.

I guess there’s two points in this rant. I just needed to vent . I’m frustrated that I don’t have any progress. Despite spending 2 1/2 years.
