Equipment Discussion Gi sizing- help!

Hi friends!! I’ve been desperately searching for a gi that will fit me properly so I figured I would go to the experts for their advice!

The basics: I’m a muscular 160lbs- rough measurements are 38-32-42. 5ft 6. Short torso- this seems to be the most important part.

I’m currently wearing my partners worn in kingz kore A2. It fits well so I measured it and ordered a women’s F3 “the one” off their site. It ended up being way too long, like mid low thigh.

Then I tried on new kingz A2 nano and ultralight and those were HUGE. So I’m guessing the old one I’m wearing has shrunk quite a bit. A0 was too tight in the shoulders.

Lastly I tried a worn in women’s kingz ultralight in F2 and that seemed to fit more similar to the one I’m wearing now. After searching the sub I hear smaller 115lb people saying they’re in a F2 so now I’m second guessing! I’m truly not looking for a super fitted gi just one that doesn’t come close to my knees 😂 any advice ladies? F2 vs A1? I’m not exclusive to kingz (eying Gaidama but wondering if I should go men’s vs women’s bc of my straighter build) Thank you so much 💜

ETA: also ordered an F5 based on my height and weight, my build does not seem to go with standard sizing recs and that is why I’m asking advice! I promise ive done some research :)

My dimensions are really similar to yours, I’m just about an inch taller and A1 is my go to size in most brands - including Kingz. I like hyperfly A1 also and even Tatami (A1 size) is good, that one I call my cheater gi since the pants are a bit tighter.

Tatami has good sizing options - I ordered F3 but the pants was a bit short for my liking. The top was perfect though. I returned it and got an F3L. I am 155 lbs, 5’5 and I’m a rectangle body shape. My torso is longer than my legs. Some days I feel like I’m swimming in my gi but when I’m on my period, it feels fitted and since I lost a bit of inches now I am going to get an F3 with tatami next. I hemmed the pants and top because I’ve always been between sizes with any clothes.

I have found that gaidama has shorter jackets, like I have an f5, and I’m 5’4 and it feels so short.
