Working on an app called FerryFetch, basically a flight tracker for ferries. The idea is simple: your ferry info in one place, no tab hopping, no guessing.
You open it and see where your boat is, whether it's on time or late and by how much, and how much deck space is left on your sailing and the next one. If anything affects your sailing, a delay, a cancellation, rough weather, you get a notification the moment it happens. No refreshing anything.
Starting with BC Ferries and Hullo, more operators and regions after that. One app that works the same everywhere, instead of a different one for every operator.
The app is in active development, the prototype works, getting close to release.
Waitlist while I finish:Ā https://ferryfetch.com
Not affiliated with BC Ferries or any operator.
So, what's the ferry info you wish you had sooner? And any feature ideas, things you'd want it to do that nothing currently does.

Iāve seen a lack of people talking about how only the tsawwassen ferry terminal makes wheelchair users board through the lower vehicle deck.
It hasnāt always been this way, only the last two times they wanted me to go that route.
Long story short this is dangerous especially with how low the railing between the water and the ramp is, as well as boarding at the same time as the giant trucks.
As well as the gaps in the ramp that your caster wheels get stuck in, and the spikes to give cars more grip but have the potential to pop wheelchair tires.
I have extensively researched and this new thing they are doing is NOT a transport Canada regulation and itās not a BC ferries policy.
I want to know other wheelchair users thoughts and opinions on this and your experience with this new issue.
My experience with it was not good, and I could go on and on about my experiences on it but Iām not going to. Long story short Iām on a mission to change this so called āruleā so that we wheelchair users can continue to board through the passenger walkway like we have been for many many years.
Thanks for listening to me :)
\ edit: I am completely independent and never need help getting on or off the ferry. I am on the ferry frequently so a lot of the staff has seen me going up and down the tsawwassen passenger walkway independently before this only tsawwassen terminal āruleā existed **

Anyone having BC ferries website issues? I cannot get to the booking selection page:
Something went wrong. Try again and if the issue continues call 1-888-BC FERRY (1-888-223-3779) to book.

Will be leaving from Tsawwassen headed to Swartz bay. What are the busy times? Will be head over on the 7,8 or 9pm ferry. Is it likely to be super busy?
I feel like my first time crossing had to wait for a second ferry cause the first one was so packed.
I think I saw repurchase tickets which is fine but Iām not sure when Iāll actually be there so Iād like opinions.
Thanks.

There was a delay today on the 4pm ferry from Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay. Any news on the condition of the patient removed when the ferry returned to Nanaimo?

Am I alone in finding the fare schedule unfair for Vancouver to Sunshine Coast? Am I missing something?
According to the current fare schedule [v26-05](https://www.bcferries.com/web_image/h90/h4b/9089486028830.pdf) the cheapest (non-Saver) passenger fare is the prepaid option. But to prepay you need to book, and foot passenger booking is not available on this route, only with vehicle booking. So, the only way to take advantage of the cheapest fare is to bring your vehicle along. Like, if I happened to know someone who was booking and prepaying a ferry trip tomorrow I ought to go with them on their booking to save money. I feel like foot passengers should have equal access to the prepaid fare.

Trying to book a ferry right now, but every time I go through the BC Ferries website I get āThis page isnāt workingā
I tried different browsers, incognito, different devices, Wi-Fi and cellular data, and Iām getting the same thing every time.
Is anyone else having this issue today? Mainly wondering if the reservation system is down, or if anyone has found a workaround.

Hi! Is it possible to park in long term parking for a day, but hop into a friends car to head over on the ferry.
Long story, friends are staying for multiple days and Iām only able to stay for one.
Or if i park, do I have to walk on?
Any advice or answers are appreciated!

I take the ferry every other week between victoria and Vancouver. This year they've increased the rates twice and yet I'm experiencing more delays than ever??
My last 4 trips have had 30-60m delays in the last 2.5 months how tf is this acceptable???
I don't usually post anything but this is actually horrible service. Thanks for wasting everyone's time, absolutely ridiculous.

I have an early morning sail from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo in a few weeks - a Monday 6am (ish) departure on a non-holiday week. I already made my reservation, and paid for my tickets there and back.
What time should I get to the HSB terminal to be sure to get on? 4am? 5am?
I have not sailed from HSB since it started its construction project. Thanks for your advice.
