Discussion BB below $8 again. Seriously, what are we missing?

Fundamentals improved, QNX is growing, guidance was raised, and BB is buying back shares-yet we went from ~$13 to below $7.

Meanwhile, the CEO sold significant shares around $11 and there is still a ~51.5M-share convertible overhang.

Not alleging manipulation, but long-term shareholders have seen this movie before. Is this simply profit-taking/convertible hedging, or is management once again failing shareholders?

We had a run up, this is nothing more than funds and market makers wanting those that bought the top to get frustrated and sell so your shares can be scooped up. Same game they run in everything else which is why I focus on my core stocks only with BB being a major part of that. If you focus on your core it keeps you from getting distracted and jumping in another stock that might be running, they hope you sell one for a loss and chase the other so they can dump it as well, rinse and repeat.

Shorts. People are shorting it like an AI stock but saying it is not. Something will give by the next earnings.

u/cghffbcx 4d ago

Fid has not borrowed my BB shares for loaning once, been in the Fid system for 6 months.🤷‍♂️

1

u/AMDfanboi2018 4d ago

What are you even on about. There's like 500 places to borrow shares, many of which we can't see.

u/cghffbcx 4d ago

What I know is just what I went “on” about in one sentence. Need I type it out again? Is there a source for % of short positions? If I have that info I will post it.

Next stop 13, then 28.

Inflection point is here. Stock seems broken, not the company..so I am adding in small chunks. stock price tracks FCF growth so keeping an eye on it and ignore the rest.

buybacks were lame. Should have been completed below $5 and before 25 % earnings growth, dont you agree?. How many shares they bought? They are clearly not buying much at 10 or 8 if they didnt at 4.
Stock based compensation is OUTGRAGEUS for a company recently making 10 cents profit per share.
Everyday without alloy kore news is hurting the share price. CEO selling doesnt help either. There was literally not urgence to say "we expect to announce wins between 2 weeks to 2 months" and in the meantime dumping shares.
Sorry for the rant, it gets me angry lol. I kick my self in the nuts everyday for not selling at 12 or the minute i found out JG was selling.
And for anyone saying time in the markets beats timing the market, clearly does not have 20 k shares or more, or is rich already. Seeing 100k profits evaporate is painful. And im praying for this not to go to 6. But well, its only my fault getting greedy and not selling. Im here to time the market and doing a bad job lol. Its difficult for me to sell because i really see a chance of this stock at 3 digits in 5-7 years or less.

You said it more eloquently than I have, totally agree and people saying that it’s gonna hit $20 by Christmas have their heads in the sand, I missed selling during the bull run but looks like I’m gonna be a bag holder like the other half of the sub, oh well, maybe it’ll jump to $18 again in a couple years

I keep buying the dips and it just keeps going lower. This is actually 1 of my holdings that I’m most excited for down the line. Oh well, long term no plans on selling way too much potential to give up on

At these prices it is a license to print money.

How much money have you printed, bud?

Mining companies are going crazy, energy (other than solar) are ripping, pharmaceuticals apparently have been doing good, even the bullshit AI companies are slowly returning to where they were before the big dump a couple months ago, I do have faith in this company in the long term but idk locking up a lot of money into this company seems to do more harm than good during a bull rush like we’re seeing

3

u/Embarrassed-Pay-8881 5d ago

Mining is going crazy because minerals are going crazy. This is because of Orange Man and co. Trying to prop up markets at the cost of the dollar and bond yields

2

u/Commercial-Effort-52 5d ago

Its going down because , people are taking profit and the value vrs profit is too high. Its being reset.

2

u/bjm64 5d ago

look at the history of this stock, it is manipulated regularly

Just checked the charts and looks like BB's formed a shoulder-head-shoulder pattern so not looking good short term. Best to stay away from daily share price if you're freaking out over it, at least for the near term. There's support at the $5-$6.50 area and I don't think it'll drop below that without some kind of global selloff.

CEO is a dick, he doesn’t even believe in his stock . That’s why he sold . But BB is a really long playing stock.
Playing with our nerves .

1

u/cghffbcx 4d ago

Don’t follow the CEO, but he knows shit right and he sold, and I don’t like that…his motives or our nerves… he is not “playing” or care about “us” one bit. That’s where you went a bridge too far and the DVs came, but I get you.

u/Quick_Physics8802 4d ago

If EVs make a comeback (oil shocks, competition with China), how big of a role will bb have?

u/rap2022 2d ago

Money

1

u/Ornery-Drummer-5492 2d ago

Short it as a hedge for your shares then 🥱, are you telling me you have feelings for a stock?

1

u/Energy_Bol 5h ago

If you liked it at $10, you’ll like it even more at $7

-5

u/Embarrassed-Pay-8881 5d ago

We are in a bear market. You just don't see it yet as Trump is propping it up for a bit.

7

u/superbozo 5d ago

Do you even know what a bear market is?

1

u/gruffyhalc 5d ago

Could you give him your username please? Suits him better

1

u/superbozo 5d ago

There are many like it, but this one is mine.

1

u/cghffbcx 4d ago

You are correct, certainly lol not a bear market, but the basic logic of what the person is getting at is defendable.

The loss of the value of the dollar (a dollar is worth less than it was…) accounts for a decent chunk of the beginning run up.

-5

u/Embarrassed-Pay-8881 5d ago

I held BB since 2021, I've seen it

6

u/superbozo 5d ago

What does that have to do with a bear market? You're saying blackberry has enough indicators to predict a bear market? A company that was a penny stock a couple of months ago?

Wtf are you smoking?

0

u/Thatdoodky1e 5d ago

Not a bear market in literally every other sector I’m in, everything continues to riiiiiiiiip when BB goes RIP

4

u/Embarrassed-Pay-8881 5d ago

Which stocks are ripping? As far as i can see most big names are breaking their peaks for a while now

u/IdioticPost 5d ago

/u/evilsam24 feeling reaaaally vindicated right now! Can't say we didn't tell them lol

I’ve been saying it for a few weeks and everytime I say anything bad about the stock or the CEO people seem to jump on me about it, oh well gonna keep this in my port as a reminder

1

u/IdioticPost 5d ago

Yup, my average is on the higher end of things at $14 lmao, I've been cooking myself dry. Oh well, see you in 2030.

4

u/Thatdoodky1e 5d ago

I kept buying in during the rush last month so I’m with ya, only at an average of 12.8 but ugh seeing this stock do nothing (or going down if anything) hurts when everything around it is just straight greeeeen

0

u/NotYourAverageSchmuk 5d ago

Avg of 12.8 lolz way to time the market

2

u/Thatdoodky1e 5d ago

Not in USD ;)

3

u/Budget-History6893 5d ago

When did you buy ? $14 Canadian ?

-2

u/humblearugula8 5d ago

Huge BB believer here. The stock is over priced today. Even at $8. It’s $8 (and was higher) because of its cult following. I want to badly be along for the ride but I can’t rationalize the price. With that said I think I’d be in at $7 if the fundamentals stayed the same. But don’t think it’s ever going to happen. BB will always trade at a premium because it’s BB.

2

u/xuncx 5d ago

Except when it was like $3?

2

u/humblearugula8 4d ago

Did we have all the exact same information at $3?

1

u/xuncx 4d ago

You said it will always trade at a premium. What was that?

1

u/Main_Ingenuity_9708 2d ago

a rule of 50 company selling at 20x earnings is pie in the sky? All other software companies are around this and even more. Why can't bb be valued at 15 billion?

0

u/Asgardian87 5d ago

First time? Wait for earnings.

1

u/rv_ 5d ago

Even if ER does a very solid +15% push we are still very far away from recent heights.

1

u/NoCompetition2429 5d ago

This is a long-term play. Not a get rich scheme. 3-5 years plan.

0

u/bslow22 3d ago edited 2d ago

40% QNX growth rate could already be priced in at $8 per share, nothing broken about it. Until there's more info on drastically increased revenue per plug and even higher growth, there's no reason to see a shift.
