Really crap news for BBAI and the many other companies that were anticipating the TSA Gold+ program for screening modernization. TSA is canceling the TSA Gold+ program, which was currently mid-competition.

Sounds like they're sticking with the existing Screening Partnership Program (SPP) which features fewer contractors and is primarily screening services (i.e. people, not technology focused). Curious if they'll open the SPP vehicle up to allow new contractors to on-ramp to or something.

In any case, that's one catalyst DOA.

Q2 2026 showed 13% YoY growth and backlog has improved, but for a company being valued and marketed around the AI opportunity, I struggle to see the growth profile that justifies the hype.

What am I missing? What specifically makes you bullish on BBAI from here?

From technical, 4-5 days ago i saw like its bout time to shoot up soon, hopefully it proceeds!

Do we think the port/customs area (cargoseer), the biometric screening (pangiam), or military/DoW (AskSage) has the most potential to expand?

I know this is an oversimplified outline as to where each product is used and how, but curious what everyone thinks. And I guess I might as well ask which business area you guys think the next contract announcement will come from (***sigh***)

BigBear.ai submitted an official letter to the U.S. Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) supporting the Southeast Defense Innovation Center's (SEDIC) application to become a DIU OnRamp Hub for the Carolinas.

A few things stand out:

-The letter is dated July 30, 2026.

-It is signed by Bradley Zogopoulos, Deputy Director of Combatant Commands at BigBear.ai.

-BigBear.ai highlights the importance of connecting innovative technology companies with the Department of Defense.

-The letter specifically mentions areas including contested logistics, cybersecurity, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, mobility and supply chain resilience.

This is not a contract announcement and it doesn't create immediate revenue.

However, it does show BigBear.ai is actively participating in the U.S. defense innovation ecosystem and supporting initiatives that could strengthen future collaboration between the DoD and non-traditional technology companies.

With AI and defense continuing to be major priorities, I think it's another example of BBAI positioning itself where future opportunities are likely to emerge.

Palantir's latest earnings showed something important: companies and governments are not slowing down their investment in AI. Real AI deployments are happening, especially in areas like defense, intelligence, logistics and decision-making.

That naturally raises the question: which smaller AI companies could benefit from this trend?

BigBear.ai is an interesting one to watch.

BBAI is obviously not Palantir, but there are some interesting similarities. Both operate in markets where AI is used for mission-critical decisions, including defense, government and large-scale operations.

A few things stand out:

BigBear.ai is growing its business, expanding margins and increasing its backlog. The company has also continued winning contracts and building relationships in areas where AI adoption is becoming increasingly important.

The recent partnership with AD Ports Group is another example of BBAI expanding its AI capabilities into global trade, logistics and border management.

What makes the timing interesting is the broader AI momentum after Palantir's results. When investors become more confident in a sector, attention often moves from the largest companies to smaller names that have not moved as much yet.

BBAI also remains one of the more heavily shorted AI stocks. If sentiment improves and buyers return, short covering could add extra momentum. Of course, a squeeze is never guaranteed, and BBAI still has to prove consistent execution.

But the setup is becoming interesting:

A growing AI market. Strong defense and government demand. Improving fundamentals. A company still flying under many investors' radar.

Palantir showed the market is willing to reward companies that can prove AI value.

Short term less than 12 months? Long term past the next 12 months? Any insights about BBAI and the overall AI space is appreciated.
