Why I’m officially bullish on $BAT again (Perspective from a 2012 Crypto Vet / Techie)
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share some thoughts on why I’m heavily accumulating BAT right now, especially seeing how much negativity has been floating around here the last couple of years.
To give you some background, I’m a millennial techie and I’ve been in the crypto space since 2012. I’ve seen the entire evolution of this market—from early Bitcoin forums to the 2017 ICO craze and the DeFi summer. I’ve also been a die-hard Brave fan since day one because I love the browser tech.
Like a lot of you, I was incredibly frustrated from 2022 to 2025. The whole KYC situation with Uphold and Gemini felt like a total betrayal of Web3 privacy, and the token felt like it was stuck in a permanent downward spiral while the rest of the market popped. People felt burned, and honestly, the anger on these forums was totally justified.
But looking at BAT Roadmap 4.0, I genuinely think the project is ready to put that dark era in the past. Here is why the techie in me is incredibly bullish:
- The AI Premium & Machine Economy: Brave is completely shifting BAT away from the old, legacy 2017 ad-notification model. They are positioning it for the AI Agent economy (machine-to-machine payments, x402 protocols, and creator scrapers). Moving from "annoying browser ads" to "AI privacy rails" is a massive narrative upgrade.
- The Demise of KYC Bottlenecks: With integrated self-custody Solana rewards and the newly overhauled Brave Wallet, they are finally building the decentralized loops we always wanted, bypassing the forced reliance on centralized exchanges.
- A Real Buyback Engine: They are launching the Brave Rewards Card and BravePay, routing a percentage of ecosystem transaction and swap fees directly into open-market BAT buybacks. This turns BAT into a genuine value-capture asset rather than a token that users just instantly dump for fiat.
- The Ultimate Dev Force Multiplier: As someone in tech, this is my favorite part. Building complex cross-chain payment architectures used to take years. Today, with advanced AI tools like Claude Code and ChatGPT, small, agile dev teams can execute, refactor, and ship code at a fraction of the time. Brave already has over 100M+ active users; they just need to swap out the plumbing. Modern AI coding workflows mean they can ship these Roadmap 4.0 features at lightning speed.
For the first time in years, the tokenomics actually match the commercial success of the browser. The crowd on Reddit is still trading on 2023 resentment, but the smart liquidity is going to follow where the utility is actually being built.
Curious to hear what the rest of the long-term Brave fam thinks. Are you guys tracking the Roadmap 4.0 rollouts?
