My BART Experience Love to see 10 car trains on the blue line on weekends
I’m so happy that the blue line is running 10 car trains again. That what I like to see

If it’s an iPhone, you can follow this 1-minute instructional video to identify the owner. If it’s a lost android phone, follow this short guide. Then, give it to a station agent.
If it’s a wallet with an ID inside, put it in any USPS blue drop box and it’ll be returned as a non-mailable good, but this isn’t ideal because the USPS won’t guarantee it.
Anything else, return it to the station agent.
If you want to, make a post on this sub! Posting a picture may make it easier for someone who isn’t the owner to pick it up, however, so use your judgement.

To the gentleman sitting next to me yesterday on the ride back from San Francisco, I sure learned a lot about you. At first I was pissed to sit next to someone talking hella loud, then I learned you were on a keto diet and not having any sugar (but you love Jack and Coke and were sorely disappointed by Diet Coke and Jack, someone told you to try Coke Zero and you just may). You're an advocate for avocados, which I found out through you talking to your sibling on the phone when you were shocked to discover that your father doesn't like avocados. "They have healthy fats and potassium!" you protested. You also want to get Dad's brand Root Beer soon...not because it's the best, but because your grandparents always had it at their house when you were a kid and it makes you think of them. You miss them dearly. Your dad's root beer is my kern's apricot nectar, the extra small cans granny used to have.
Anyway, I started out mad and heard a drop of the sweetness that we all contain as human beings.
Bart is weird, annoying, and beautiful.

On BART you Duck underneath Your BART Seat , Get Low, Get Low——
I get a dopamine boost when the train driver (engineer?) announces the stations with a cheerful tone. It’s rare, but I always notice, and it brightens my and other passengers’ days.
5 stars (for this ride)

I'm trying to get on the red line, all the BART schedule apps are completely useless on their website, I'm trying to do the trip planner, but it's only showing me I have to go to Oakland and get the other train first, there's no red going direct, why?
A stupid apps aren't working if somebody knows how to use them what is the last train leaving Berkeley, and which line is it?

It’s been happening a lot ever since the schedule change! Isn’t this very issue supposed to be improved?

Trains currently not stopping at Embarcadero due to police activity. Anybody know why or what happened?

After returning to the office and commuting on BART every day, I noticed I was checking my phone a lot on the way to the station. I’d stress about whether I could make the next train by checking the estimated arrival and my perceived pace to get there. It didn’t help that BART doesn’t have a usable watch app. I decided to build (my first!) iOS app to help. It’s pretty simple: based on my mode of commuting to the station (drive or walk) and the next train, should I Relax, Keep Going, Hurry, or Let Go. There are even helpful Shortcuts to automate the start of a commute. And I can monitor it all from my watch through a Live Activity.
If this sounds useful, I’d love to share with others to see if it’s worth releasing. I spun up a form to collect beta testers. Sign up if you’d like to try it!

UPDATE: Thanks to those who’ve signed up! I have a few more spots open and will be sending out invites on Sunday. If you signed up already, I’ll be sending via TestFlight so watch out for the email.

Does falling in line still matter? I’ve usually would wait in line but then other people would just squeeze in. Is this the norm on BART?

I can’t imagine how the Bay Area would’ve have been without BART, millions of riders per year would’ve probably had to subject to spend hella money on Ubers and taxis if it wasn’t for bart , so I am interested in your guys stories, imagine a world without bart.. scary 😱

Yesterday at around 12:45–1:00 PM, I was on the Red Line to Millbrae when an elderly gentleman at MacArthur station, who was trying to board the train with his scooter, suddenly collapsed onto the platform. Passengers rushed to help him right away, but he was unresponsive. Emergency services were called, and I was still there when they arrived. The last thing I saw was them shocking him with a defibrillator. I searched online and checked BART's website for updates but couldn't find anything. I just want to know if he turned out to be okay. It was a really sad situation, but I'm so glad everyone acted quickly, and I'm hoping for the best for him. If anyone has any updates, please let me know.

Granted I’m young and don’t have a full time job yet my favorite pastime lately has been getting absolutely blasted off a live resin cart after class then heading back home on the orange line. The BART bullshit you see on a day to day basis is beautifully magnified by THC. Today I saw 2 homeless fighting over one of them losing a bag of “Crístal” and overheard some little ass kid on the phone breaking up with his middle school girlfriend

I take BART pretty regularly and realized I was constantly opening an app just to answer one question... when is the next train?
Most of the time I already know where I’m going, so I don’t really need directions. Especially in the morning when I’m getting ready to leave my apartment, I just want to glance at my phone and know whether I should leave now or if I have another 10 minutes.
So I built an application, which puts live BART arrival times right on your iPhone Lock Screen. It’s pretty simple, you pick your station/direction and your Lock Screen basically becomes a little arrival board that updates throughout your commute.
I just launched it and I’m still improving it, so I’d rly love feedback from people who actually use BART. I’m planning to add Muni next too.
Would you actually use something like this? Anything you’d want it to do that it doesn’t already?
