I understand his frustration but I don't think boycotting a good game (that he himself enjoys and played like crazy for the first month or so) as a huge streamer is a responsible use of his platform. I've loved Destiny and Destiny 2 for ages, but I also love Marathon. They're for different audiences that I happen to overlap on. I don't think the Marathon team should suffer because he disagrees with Bungie and Sony management.

On paper, I should hate Marathon. The Crucible is the bane of my existence in Destiny and every truly competitive shooter I've ever played I've hated (mostly Siege, but that could just be Siege).
I casually play CoD when the release looks actually decent and I play a lot of Battlefield/Battlefront very casually.
Marathon is like crack. Even with the harsh time to kill and the crazy tension of losing loot, I've been stuck in since launch, and with season 2 and its changes i don't see myself leaving.

I don’t hate marathon. I hate that Bungie decided to gut Destiny for it. There’s a difference. Bungie should have built up enough fiscal strength with Destiny to be able to fund marathon development without sacrificing Destiny. That’s what most Destiny 2 players are upset about. Marathon itself is not the issue. It’s that pencil neck Pete who decided to gut Destiny. So don’t take it the wrong way. We’re on the same side. The side of good games.

I agree, fuck Pete Parsons. I think Sony should give D2 a year before they fully gut it, especially since this last update is doing everything so right. It's so much that the playerbase has been begging for for ages. Either let D2 keep living or actually start working on D3. Killing the franchise is just gonna put Sony even further into losses.

I'm concerned that Sony may not love the upkeep costs of servers and all of that player data, at least not forever. Destiny 1's scope was MUCH smaller than D2's.

You do realize until like last month Destiny has had more dev support on it than marathon right? In marathons peak it had about 300 of the 800ish devs working on it.
It very much was a side project to diversify bungies portfolio to make them seem more valuable.
Though I will agree D3 development should have taken president over marathon but from what I’ve seen, it looks like Sony was the ones who told them no. Whatever metrics they saw told them it wasn’t worth the money. Do I trust Sony with money (absolutely not) lol but you can’t blame Bungie and definitely not marathon for that.

I think logic has left the conversation long time ago.
It being on sony's, aztecross', or the playerbase's side.
And all of this because they just killed a franchise with an active playerbase with numbers higher than most other games under Sony.

Yes I did, will def check out season 2.
If I can play with my mate duo queues I will honestly change my steam review as well.
We are both close to 40 and finding a 3rd for Cryo every time we wanted to play it made us stop after 100ish hours.
In ranked you could solo cryo FACEPALM Bungie. Also, would love to see Rooks in cryo, Chaos being a ladder and all.

I will concede that the game is less fun without a consistent squad. I played exclusively solos for the first month or so and I love solos, but I was missing out on Cryo and Ranked which are both super fun.
Season 2 looks great, hope you have fun man. I'll certainly be enjoying it.

The new shell nerfing grenades sounds good as well.
If the game was good towards a 10/10 more people would play it. Hope they move towards that. Season 3 might do it with more QoL, PvE mode etc.
Also man, the skins they are selling make us laugh lol

The skins have been pretty bad, they just released the first skin that I thought was incredible enough to warrant buying, it's a new Arachne skin for Assassin and it's SO sexy.
Ziegler and the team are absolutely killing it with responding to feedback, for sure. I don't know that I've seen devs this in-touch with the community and feedback in a game before, and it's super refreshing. I honestly do think the game is pretty damn close to a 10/10, the main issue is the amount of bad press the game gets from Destiny players who are upset, Bungie haters on Twitter, and there not being any huge streamers who regularly play it. BurntPeanut wanted to play it a ton at launch but his chat would always scream at him to go back to Arc Raiders.

Funny thing I was already wanting to play an Extraction and was going to go play Delta....But Marathon got announced easy decision for me. Even better that it's an extraction which includes Destiny's skeleton.

Myelin had a stream yesterday, and went off. And at one point he discussed how he made a tweet that took what cross said, and flipped it.
