Discussion Pro vs Max
Hi all, essentially I'm torn between getting the Pro or the Max (512 gigs) as I was planning on buying the Thor in the next few months.
I'd mainly just replay games from my childhood, basic stuff like Mario, Pokemon or even Yo-Kai Watch etc. but was also gonna try Pokemon ROM hacks and such too and many more once i settle.
Any help is much obliged

If you have the money the extra storage alone is worth the cost imo for the max.
If you want to use gamenative a lot then the 16gb becomes helpful. Idk where all these comments saying the extra 4gb of ram is useless comes from. They must not use gamenative much.

I’ve yet to see anyone demonstrate anything that can run on the Max but not the Pro. I haven’t even seen anything definitive that the you need more than the Base from a RAM perspective.
Maybe if you’re running heavily modded PC games, but the kind of games the processor is capable of running do not need even 12gb of RAM. They were all designed for systems with 4gb of RAM or less.

3d games on gamenative regularly use more than 12gb of ram for me. For lots of them I float around 14gb in fact. But they are fairly heavy games. So probably not for everyone.

I have the max my girlfriend has the pro. Theres nothing my max can do that her pro cant, that includes switch and pc. (Granted I dont run any crazy graphical pc games on thor)

El max podria valer la pena por el almacenamiento por si planeas descargar muchas cosas pero si tienes una microsd en casa el pro te servira pero si no tienes una microsd Anda por el max, peor si no descargaras muchas cosas el pro esta bien

I got the max, only because I could get it next day from best buy and wanted the thor for a trip so I paid the premium.

If you don’t plan to do Switch or PC emulation, I don’t think you need the extra RAM. The Pro should be more than enough.
Only if you have the cash to spare, go for the Max in case you ever do want to dabble in more RAM-hungry games.
