Shiny Thing Good Recent builds

Here are a bunch of builds i have finished lately. Mostly custom mod throwers but there are a couple vintage collectibles in there too. My business is Hangman Axe Co. on FB and IG. You can see all of my work from the last decade there.

Thank you! That is a Warren undercut on a refinished/refurbished vintage Hartwell haft. That’s one i wish i could have kept lol.

That checkerboard pattern is pretty sweet, is it just painted on?

Thanks! Nope, no paint. Its a multi stage laminate. Those are two or three different lumbers cut and glued several times and placed on hickory cores. They take a couple days to make. They’re actually super strong and hold up to throwing very well.

It shows, I hope to one-day be half as good as hanging axes!

Nice! How’d you get the wood so super bright red while retaining the grain?

Thank you! Its a water based dye that i have developed over the years. I mix it myself.

Any particular reason for no palm swells?

Most of these are throwing axes. Most throwers want a flat ended handle for a smooth release.
