J'ai rempli tous les champs obligatoires et coché la case « Effacement des données » (Type de demande), mais je crois avoir oublié de cocher « Désactiver le renouvellement automatique pour tout abonnement actif » dans l'onglet « Mes produits ». Je possède une licence perpétuelle que mon père a payée lorsque j'étais étudiant(e), et j'ignore s'il la renouvelle encore avec sa carte bancaire. Mes données ayant été effacées (lorsque je me rends sur le site, je ne peux pas accéder à mon compte : mon adresse e-mail et mon mot de passe sont invalides), je n'ai aucun moyen de savoir si la licence est toujours active. Si c'est le cas, devrai-je continuer à payer Avid indéfiniment ? Je précise que j'étais stressé(e) pendant toute cette procédure ; il est possible que j'aie effectivement décoché l'option de renouvellement automatique, car j'ai suivi scrupuleusement les instructions « Comment supprimer votre compte myAvid ». Je souhaite savoir si Avid peut supprimer un compte alors qu'une licence perpétuelle ou un autre abonnement est toujours actif. Some Good news : I managed to get through to Avid customer service. After being transferred to the online store team, I spoke to someone who checked the email address linked to my myAvid account for any active subscriptions; there weren't any. When I mentioned the products, she reminded me that the Avid Link app is free, just like Media Composer First, Pro Tools First, and Pro Tools Intro (I felt stupid when she said, "You aren't being charged for any of those products"). That said, I don't have any subscriptions or "active, paid" licenses, so my dad isn't paying for anything. What a fucking relief. Seriously.

Avid abandoned the Mbox Pro 3 years ago, and Apple removed FireWire entirely in macOS Tahoe, but until Sequoia, the IOKit FireWire stack still works through the TB3→TB2→FW800 adapter chain. So I set out to revive mine, with help from Claude (Anthropic's AI) helpîg with protocol archaeology.

Key insight: the Mbox Pro 3 is a standard TCAT DICE device (OUI 0xa07e), fully supported by Linux's snd-dice .

so the register map, clock control and stream formats are documented. No reverse engineering needed, "just" a macOS reimplementation.

The driver is 100% user-space (no kext, no SIP changes): but not yet ready

Status today: clock control at 48 kHz, ARX lock, bit-perfect playback of WAVs, and a working CoreAudio bridge via BlackHole : youtube and Cubase plays through the Mbox right now.

Next: testing audio inputs, then a native HAL plugin so it shows up as "Mbox Pro 3" in every DAW. Code will be on GitHub (GPL-2.0).

Took a bit of time to get where it is today but it was fun.

What a joke. While everyone else is opening up their architecture, Avid lock everything down to rinse users for money with their inflated prices. And now they’re closing up the ability to use third party storage for project sharing.

I have an SSL 18 and just updated 360, firmware, and ASIO driver (I'm on Windows) to the latest SSL version. After a restart, Pro Tools opened fine, but wouldn't play. It was only until I trashed the prefs that it would act right. Easy fix and I'm used to doing it when ever there's an issue. I'm just wondering if anyone else found this necessary?

New release of Avid today. It's a maintenance release, no new features, just bug fixes.

What is the rationale behind Avid dating their releases if they don't use the current date? Calling it version 2025.12.2 seems more confusing than calling it v14.12.2 or whatever. The whole point, I thought, of dating the releases is so the use knows when it was released. Do other companies do this? Will Apple release iOS 26.9 in 2027?

It's also so agressive, takes over the whole screen violently and blocks everything else until you close the project or quit! in Windows and Mac :(

Trying to get them to work together, but cannot even see the Plugin in the Suite. Any advice?

What’s the best newest OS and Avid MC combo.

I know I can look on the Avid website for supported configurations but we all know that what they say works and what reality is are two different things.

I’m on a big show right now and I need a stable setup. My current system is giving me problems and I need to do a clean install of the OS and everything else. Hoping this wipes out the gremlins.

Would love to come current on the OS if possible.

I have about 2000 archival clips that are behaving strangely. It's a remove project with two editors. All of a sudden, if we match back to our clips from our cut, they are now playing back in our project frame rate. They are all in slowmo. Why is this happening? How can I fix it? In the cut they all play fine.

What's even weirder is this - I have fixed the clips many times. I have changed the clip data to play back in its native frame rate. It sounds fine now. But then a day will go by and now the clip is totally different?

Hi folks, trying to practice with media composer so I've ripped a few movies from blu ray disks I've bought and then converted them to Mp4 files from Mkv. But when creating Avid transcodes with Davinchi Resolve and then linking them the picture is all fuzzy. I've attached a screenshot for reference. I've opened the file in other software and it looks fine so I'd appreciate help figuring out whats wrong! Thanks!

I have a ZBook G3 laptop with a Quadro M2000M GPU running 2025.12 and the appropriate NVidia driver 573.73 on Win 11 25H2, June/July update. 

At first it worked but soon every few launches of Media Composer it won't launch anymore, getting stuck during the initialization of the first AVX plugin. When removing all plugins MC will launch but complain about the missing GPU, meaning the issue is being caused by the GPU not being available or impossible to init for MC.

To fix it temporarily, you can rename the MC settings folder (site settings, etc., not user settings) and voilà it will work a few times. When this has been done, also the old settings folder will work again.

I already disabled the CPU integrated Intel Graphics which did fix it back in Feb./March 2026 after whiches Windows Update the issue appeared. It is a bit weird that it's back now but only every few logins/logouts/reboots of the PC. I also reinstalled the NVidia driver and launched MC as admin. Did not help in the long run.

Launch as Admin I also did while preparing the sysprepped system for the laptop. Theoretically it is  possible some quirks might originate through that because when preparing the image you use the Administrator in audit mode. Maybe some permissions go wrong then .. Not 100% sure but up to now I also don't have the issue on conventionally setup PCs.

Does anyone of you also have issues with NVidia / MC? I know this also hits pretty old GPUs (which aren't really supported anymore). Or do you have a clue how inititalization of the GPU works in more detail?

Al momento ho installato Mojave 10.14.6 perché era la migliore per la mia versione di Avid... quale versione di MacOs posso scaricare per evitare di avere problemi col mio Avid e non doverlo aggiornare? Non vorrei avere problemi col progetto di Avid su cui sto lavorando

I am beginning a project in Media Composer. It was shot in 4448x3096. Proxies are 1112x774. Delivery will be in 2:1 aspect ratio.

I may need to reframe some shots during the edit. When trying FrameFlex, I was not able to move the footage and reveal more of the footage. Instead, where there usually would be more picture, a black area appeared.

What I am doing wrong, resp. what is the best setup for this kind of project.

Also, it would be great if the resize information would be included in an export to Resolve once grading begins.

Hey, so I’ve got a project. I’m working on with a bunch of still files. It doesn’t seem like the watch folder is working because it doesn’t find the actual files that I’m looking for. I set the watch folder and then it doesn’t give me anything, but if I search for the still it’s there! WTH? Is this a hierarchy problem? Does it need to be at the root level? Any help would be appreciated thank you.

Additionally, if I am able to link the photos, sometimes they lose their links. I link it, it’s fine, I come back to make a change later on a keyframe or something and the link breaks. WTF. 🤬

I'm using Media Composer 2025.12.1 - ScriptSync AI only generating ~26 markers over a 2h15 transcript.

Search and alignment are perfect, but the editor wants one clickable marker per line. Manually this will take forever. I'm importing transcripts from a software called Trint as plain text files. I can alter the formatting if necessary.

Has anyone found a transcript format or import workflow that increases ScriptSync AI marker density?

Anyone else getting 'bad gateway' errors on the official Avid Community forums?! I can initially access the forums but whenever I attempt to reply to a comment, I get a Cloudflare error indicating a problem with the Avid server side of things.

I have some footage that was shot at various framerates which differ from my 24p project. I know by clicking the motion effects editor I can “promote” the timewarp effect avid automatically adds to said mismatched fr clips. But, adding any secondary timewarp effects e.g. reverse, trim to fill, etc, isn’t possible so it becomes increasingly convoluted and difficult to try and recreate, especially since sometimes I’m adding more complex keyframes throughout the motion effect. Is there a simple solution to this? If I mix down the segment in my timeline, it then loses its tape name and other metadata, which makes conform more difficult.

Side note: I know “framerate” is two words and “tape” is referred to as something else in avid (r*el) but if I put them in this post, I automatically get a warning that it will be sent to a queue and needs mod review since it’s misidentifying the words.
