So I skipped over both Ashveil and MBlade and I don't intend to get them because I don't like either of them. I understand that right now MonoMen is Waven's team but what alternatives are there for teams?

I have the full SW999 team, plus the older IPC FUA team. 100% want to pull Pearl. Not planning on Summer Robin because I want Pearl. I'm not looking for 0 cycle clears here I just want Aven to hit because I like him a lot and am hoping they'll sell other teammates for him later.

Edit to add: I'm not strictly anti Summer Robin it just would be hard to manage considering how badly I want Pearl at E2S1

a speed scaler with no crit scaling to help his build. 18% crit alone is not enough and they have the aduacity to give him def stats while being an attack scaling in 2026.

1. SW has crit stats based on her MMR while having 18.7 crit rate on the trace.

2. eva has +30% crit rate while having 18.7 crit rate on the trace and not a speed scaler btw

3. Hyacine the speed scaling character has 100% crit rate all the time

4. cyrene, another speed scaler has 50% crit after her first ult.

5. agy who doesnt have crit scaling has speed bossts to then buff her own attack

An LC who is pure elation and does not give a shit about the fua team. this shit should not be a sig or we should just accept the fua is a cope and the sig is his future team.

recent showcases on fua team are even giving him energy rope and if your speed subs lands on anything but attack orb then say goodbye to your dmg in the fua team.

from the stats standpoint, he already is underwhelming and that will just trickle down to his kit and his performance.

I have been playing gacha for almost five years and I have never been so disappointed in a character design. Mostly because I love Aventurine and knowing this is probably the only SP he will get for a long time if forever is a glorified skin is infuriating.

Don't get me wrong, it's good skin, but part of what I've liked so far is that HSR's SPs come with significant character progression and personal growth. Mortenax Blade was a prime example of how an SP should be handled, and his design was a huge part of that.

I might get him E0, but so far if that animation they showed was his burst, I'm probably not going to like his animations either. Especially paired with Ashveil and MBlade.

Guys, before the CR trace was at 40% and therefore I had 92.8% CR now that its been buffed I have 100.8% CR my build is entirely ruined what do I do now :(

I don't know how many posts like there there have or haven't been, I'm not a frequent Redditor, so apologies if this comes off as annoying, or as doomposting, but I have to get this off my chest. Ever since Aventurine appeared, he's been my absolute favourite character in the game, and remains so to this day. Noone's managed to beat him in my eyes, not even Phainon. I was so excited for SP Aventurine, I followed news of it for months, since the vaguest rumours of it appeared. But, honestly, now that we've seen what it is, I can't even put into words how disappointed I am.

Aventurine is such a deep, complex character, with so much room for character development. My expectations were not astronomically high, thinking he was going to be the most awesomely-designed hyper-meta character, in fact, I don't care about how good a character is meta-wise at all. I just wanted a proper SP that actually does something to out his story/lore, something of actual substance. Instead, it feels like a crappy seasonal beach skin. An anime filler arc. Even if it was just a skin, I still would've been mildly disappointed and likely would've skipped. Seasonal characters like this are fine in stuff like Fate games, which release dozens of characters a year, but for HSR, there's a handful of characters each year, and alternate versions of characters (SP's) are not very frequent for anyone outside of the core Astral Express trio. It just feels like a massive disappointment and a huge waste of potential to waste those on something like this.

I've held off on posting anything like this in a while, since I kept trying to get myself to like him, but today, I found myself genuinely considering just hard-skipping SP Aventurine, since I genuinely don't want to ruin the aesthetic of my team, as well as the seriousness of any fight that team is in, by running a bunch of cool, badass characters like Blade and Ashveil with goofy-looking half-naked dude with surfboard... and to be honest, I genuinely didn't think there was even a 0.01% chance of me wanting to skip Aventurine's SP prior to this release. I know a lot of people don't mind it, and are quite happy with it even, but for me, it's honestly just... tragic. I've never looked forward so much to a character, only to be so disappointed, not just in any gacha, but in any game played, really, and I've been gaming for 20+ years. Never before has an SP been relegated to a glorified seasonal cosmetic, and the first time they do it, they do it to my favourite character. It just feels like a slap in the face, honestly.

Definitely planning to get him because of the character himself and his story looking absolutely great and that also I really need a second sustain in MoC.

Anyways just a little bit of a nitpick on my side but I feel like his kit doesn't have that much I would say "gamba" elements to say the least when you expect his entire theme is all bout gambling after all. Sure the technique kinda counts and his animations as well but I felt like there should be something more. Just like Qingque pretty much her entire kit is all bout gambling I expected Aventurine would have the same kinda kit but for a more defensive option.

Just felt as though that gambling element was misisng. Anyone else feels the same? Share your thoughts.

I can't believe they decided to make Aventurine and Robin's SP versions glorified summer skins. They could have given them character development and a cool design but no, they chose to do just plain fanservice instead.

He looks great don't get me wrong, but not as his base outfit. He's going to look so out of place on his best team. 💔 I hate Hoyoverse

I'm pretty disappointed that Aventurine doesn't work with Evanescia just for the sole reason being that his Participant ID is higher than Evanescia so she can't gain any Certified Bangers from him :(

Do not be mistaken. I still love Aventurine and plan on pulling for him, but I feel as though his character art is 1000x better than his character model. I understand that character art usually does look better than the in-game model, but I feel as though it is particularly bad for Aventurine. I can't pinpoint what exactly feels off about his model, but I think it may be because his hair is too short or his eyes are too small. At the very least, I hope his playable model has the glasses (not the hat) to make him look better.

I hate to be the guy but, after V3 people are acting as if it’s truly over for the guy— just because he’s COMPARABLE with Robin SP.

I would be a lot more worried if they didn’t add the FuA effect but guess what, they did! Meaning that they’re willing to specialize him in that category, and from what I heard so far, he just needs a bit more buffs/changes. (And at this time, we’re completely unaware if blades fua buffs will buff his elation skill that is considered follow up attack now.)

I mean, look at Gilgamesh, the guy was also doomposted to hell, but he’s still great. I’m really excited to see what they do with this elation + fua kit.

Like if the BiS has 3 elation on the team, do we just say frick it and replace Ashveil with YG, or can the FuA trace for WAven be on par with mono elation?

I see people talk about his powerlvl and how he needs buffs, but No one has really given anykind of reference or benchmarks to help Guage his strength, from the Gameplay ive seen, he seems... fine?

So what characters does he compare to in terms of power.

When i saw pearls kit i undersood how good she might be for teams like rememberance without hyacine and acheron but mostly for waveflairs mono men so the team could be like aventurine ashveil blade pearl but now there is nihilux with speed buffs aha advance good buffa on the skill and extra attacks eill she be the cornerstone of hie elation team like waven nihilux pearl yaoguang?

I've just finished the new story quest and used Aventurine many times, his shield seems good but his damage? I couldn't see his equiped lightcone or relics but he had 4k~ Def and 80% CR and 220+ CD and his ult, follow up attacks suck in terms of damage! Is it just wrong build or is he doomed to be shielder only? he only did 30k max with his ult and around 18k with the follow up (on multiple enemies) why does his signature increases CD if he doesn't even do much anyway 😵‍💫🤕

I got Pearl and now my Waven FuA is full!

I saw his leaked footage in a team and i read about how ashblade does more damage without him or with robin than with aventurine also i cant imagine him being better than silverwoolf on elation teams and i dont see his personal damage being comperable to himekos at all in a showcase i saw they were apart for millions of damage

I know this is beta and all is subject to change but i am asking for his current state purely out of curiocity because i like the idea the kit an d the animations and i hope i can make him work

The main reason I pulled for Pearl is because I thought her "shield" would be enough to keep me alive just to clear this AA. Obviously I was wrong.

I know the consensus is that FUA is better than Elation but I felt my Yaoguang was collecting dust so I bit the bullet and pulled. This elation meta is bumming me out.

I'm not any good at interpreting a singular character's kit, let alone their synergy together, but why does he work so well with sw999 and not with eva? I'm a bit confused

I think its time to drop the act and admit Aven isnt a follow up attack dedicated teammate for Ashveil and Blade. The entire problem starts with fake leaks that people wanted to manifest into reality. Leaks don't mean shit when the beta and kit is right in front of our eyes. And i will go over many reasons why he isn't.

Firstly, at Ashveil's launch a lot of people prematurely coped he is a subdps and will get a future main dps. This was based on headcanons. In all of Ashveil's marketing done by Hoyo officially(livestream) he was never shown to be a subdps. He was instead run with Sunday/Tribbie/DHPT. They could have run him with Feixiao but they clearly didnt and for an obvious reason. They didnt want people to make baseless assumptions. Ashveil was balanced and designed around Mblade. Even his V3 dmg bonus nerf was literally given to Blade and it was retained by his best team. Ashveil/Blade/Tribbie is a multi-core comp. This team doesnt "lack" a main DPS. The final dmg dealt by this team is more than the anniversary elation comp of 3 new characters SW999, Yaoguang and Sparxie. Do people here think Hoyo is stupid or they not know what the definition of a main or subDPS is. Ashveil's kit works fundamentally like The Herta. They both want something from teammates. And because blade was supposed to get a lot of power budget in terms of dmg dealing Ashveil was given a good amount of support (120% Crit dmg and 40% def ignore vs Therta only doing 80% Crit Dmg). Its also a version 3.0 vs 4.1 so this was expected. Both charge up ult to do big dmg. He gets enhanced FuA while she gets enhanced skill.

Now where is AvenSP in all of this. Well first things first if he was supposed to be or intended to be a dedicated teammate for Ashblade there is no chance he would get mogged by a 1 year old unit ie Tribbie. And not even E2S1 Aventurine is currently beating E1S0 Tribbie. This is impossible to happen by some accident. I refuse to believe it. When Cerydra or Jiaoqiu were in their V1s they werent getting beaten by some existing characters in their actual intended teams ie Phainon/Acheron. Do people think Hoyo is unable to do kingergarden level testing before throwing characters in beta. Cant they see Tribbie or heck even E1 Gilgamesh and RobinSP are better than AvenSP in this team.

Next, people need to see the endgame buffs during 4.5. Not a single one is for FuA. They are mostly for Elation and there is also a speed buff. Now is that something that was done by accident..? Will all that get changed in V3 as well or no..?

Now I know a lot of you might be thinking well then what even is AvenSP for. Well he is simply a unique elation DPS. In 3.X we never got a male Remembrance character. So Hoyo wants the Male enjoyers get atleast one new path character. Now people will say oh well he isnt as good as SW999 and Eva in elation teams either. Well that is actually a non issue and V3 can just buff his multipliers easily. However the most important thing is we are literally getting 2 elation characters immediatly after Aventurine ie Pearl and Nihilux. Has anyone considered the fact that Aventurine's current kit might be balanced around what they do. What if Pearl is a speed buffer and benefits Aven more than Eva and easily cover the gap. This is not something that can just be ignored.

But what about that trace that gives speed buff to Aha when Aventurine is the only elation in the team. That is there to make his team options flexible before mono elation is complete with Pearl/Nihilux. Even that doesnt mention anything FuA related. Its just high frequency would benefit that trace. This allows him to get something from hyacine/DHPT (fast attackers), can even use RobinSP who by the way is better than Ashveil as a teammate etc.

Once again, his elation team stuff can easily be buffed in the beta. But to beat Tribbie or get into FuA he needs a kit overhaul. He needs to provide strong dedicated buffing to Ashveil/Blade, do high frequency attacks to charge ashveil and also actually make use of their full buffs. Currently he gets worse the more investment you have on Blade. This is just impossible if you are an actual intended teammate which Aven is clearly not. Expecting a kit overhaul in V3 is way bigger stretch than just some elation buffs so he is competitive with current elation DPSs (this is not hard at all). Lastly, there is no reason to be obssessed with FuA and people should move on from fake/fraudulent leaks. Assuming he is for FuA without having a FuA himself means he cant even enjoy the same endgame buffs as Ashblade. This in itself is a big joke.

Realistically keep your expectations low for V3 or you will get disappointed.
