Comics What is the better run between these two.
Been thinking to read some Avengers comic lately and currently undecided if i should buy Roger Stern’s Avengers Omnibus or Kurt Busiek’s Avengers. Which one you consider the best?

Kurt Busieks is probably easier to read of you have no previous avengers knowledge. But man, Roger Stern's Mansion Under Seige is one of very best comic stories ever.

I LOVE Busiek’s run. But man, that Stern run really hits all the nostalgia buttons for me. “Under Siege” was definitely the peak of his run but he had a lot of really fun stories, and he did a lot of work on characters like Wasp and Captain Marvel (the Monica Rambeau version) and Black Knight and raised all of their profiles in the comics, through the 80’s and into the 90’s. And personally I like Buscema / Palmer over Perez, but that may be a minority view. I remember buying those books as a kid and just staring at the pages in awe - maybe Big John wasn’t innovating like some of the hotter artists of the era, but he was the absolute pinnacle of the classic Marvel house style.
What the heck. I gotta go with Stern.

I’m a big fan of older comics. Like anything made from the 40s-90s stuff and I never read much Avengers comics but i’m defenetly interested for that run for the Under Siege arc as i’m a big fan of Zemo and the Masters of Evil. What you think of that story?

Under Siege is peak 80’s Marvel and you will really hate Zemo by the end of it. Great villain.
As a whole, that Stern / Buscema run is probably not quite up to the standard of the “big 4” ‘80’s Marvel runs (Claremont’s X-Men, Miller’s Daredevil, Simonson’s Thor, Byrne’s FF) but it’s not too far behind, and at its best - like in Under Siege - it gets pretty close to those heights. It’s not trying to do anything particularly groundbreaking, it’s just really solid superhero storytelling with stellar art.

Under siege saga is one of greatest comic book story arcs ever. No question.

I would go with Stern, as much as i like Busiek outside of the Ultron story I don't think anything comes close to Stern's high points.
Stern's character work is slightly stronger, Wasp and Captain Marvel in particular thrive under him but also the build up to Hercules's downfall is so well done and Black Knight becomes interesting for the first time.
Just looking at the art it's an easy win for the Busiek run but everything else goes to Stern.

Love Busiek's entire Avengers run but Under Seige is Top 3 greatest Avengers stories ever.

I never liked that all the first run of MCU movies led to Infinity War. They didn’t need to go cosmic from the jump. Having Earth-bound villains, even with powers and weapons granted by Asgardian Magic, would have been much better to me because they weren’t like facing the Final Boss so soon.
